Alick Bannerman never scored a ton, despite opening the batting for Australia in 28 Test matches. Bannerman's Test career was actually two years longer than Chauhan's, he could potentially be the holder of the ignominious record.

Speaking of Procter, he's probably the best bowler never to take 50 test wickets. Brett Schultz is also a good shout.

Worst (specialist) bowler to take 50 test wickets is an interesting one. I thought of Shahadat Hossain and Mohammad Sami, but there may just be some other horror show lurking about.

While I suppose it's possible that he could play for South Africa again, Kyle Abbott has only taken 39 wickets.

Imran Tahir has taken 57 wickets. Obviously he's a fantastic limited overs bowler, but rubbish at tests, averaging over 40. And on the subject of South African spinners, Paul Harris and Nicky Boje both took 100 wickets.

Alick Bannerman holds the record for the lowest Test strike rate among batsmen with over 1,000 runs. His 22.3 is comfortably ahead of Trevor Bailey and Bob Taylor in second and third place, who scored at 26.5 and 27.1 respectively.

Eh, I'd still say that Sami is worse than Tahir though.

Nicky Boje's a great shout for the worst specialist over 100. Only found Carl Hooper with a worse average. As for the best under 100 you're spoiled for choice.

I don't think I'll get to much disagreement by venturing to the conclusion that Ishant is the worst with over 200 test wickets. As for best under, who knows, but I'll go for Allan Davidson.

Nah, Harmison was a very very good bowler for a brief period around 2003/4.......it was a totaly deserved ranking at the time.

I'm not sure if Mitch Johnson did make it to No 1 during that period he was great, but I assume he did? I'm sure there are plenty of players like these that climbed to the top of the rankings during brief periods of greatness, but when you look at their entire career you'd never speak of them in great terms. I'd doubt very much if Harmy is the worst of them.

Saeed Ajmal. Pretty sure he was ranked no.1 at some stage and he couldn't even bowl. He just waddled in and threw it down the other end with an elbow bend of like 45 degrees
