Test Top 5s (as of now)

Cricket's played outside of Asia too so Jadeja can hardly be the number 1 spinner. Top 5 is a stretch considering he's not good enough to be selected anywhere other than the sub continent.
Was picked over Ash in SA, Aus and England, was he not?

Also has a 6-fer in SA

personally I'm getting a bit tired of the "home-track bully" label being thrown around so much lately as if it's some huge negative blot that completely counters any positive aspect of a player. Sure it's important for a player to perform in various conditions, away and at home, but it's still a big deal for someone to dominate at home as much as Ashwin/Jadeja, Warner etc. have.

Just because it's at home doesn't make it meaningless, and if it was so easy for spinners like Ashwin/Jadeja to average low-20s with the ball in India and opening batsmen like Warner to average 55 at SR 90 in Australia then everyone would do it. But they don't.

No. This conversation was about Top 5 bats and why Warner is no longer there, which is how we started talking about Warner's away stats, which is when you and Mister attempted to defend it by "50s are important too" to make up for Warner's lack of centuries in England without realizing that Warner's 50s in England are the exact opposite of crucial 50s.
Really? I must just have been dreaming then when I pretty obviously wrote a post about Joe Root, which said the literal opposite of what you've said here.

This is why the WPNCOS is the best spinner in the world. He gets wickets at home when no other spinners do, and he's serviceable away, including in the SC where visiting spinners are supposed to get belted all over the place.

Nah, Moeen doesn't take wickets in the SC.

Moeen Ali will barely grab a pole on the next Ashes tour when he travels to the traditional finger spinners' graveyard.

I won't care if he gets him out for 165, 227 and 144, which seems pretty likely.

That was really just in one game wasn't it? Might as well not have bowled in Hobart, was dropped for Adelaide.

So the implication Maharaj did not take enough wickets and therefore got owned? He was never expected to take wickets he was expected to hold up an end. He did that beautifully in the first test under extreme pressure. He bowled 7 overs in the 2nd test, because Abbott and Rabada took the Aussie batsmen apart. He was not dropped due to poor performance in the 3rd, Shamsi a more attacking option was given a chance. The point is a good bowler, even finger spinners, can still do well even on pitches like Perth even if they don't take 5 for`s every innings.
