*** Official*** India in West Indies 2017

This west indies team is a sham.

No Gayle. No Sammy. No Pollard. No Samuels. No Fletcher. No Narine. No Bravo. No Braithwaithe.

Where are they? Dispute with the board over payment?

But WI players have better central contracts than Zimabwe and Bangladesh. Is the living standard that high in those islands that if offsets the reward? I don't know. You should have some pride to play for your country. Maybe that is the root problem, the fact that the West Indies is not a real nation

In getting out now, Dhoni has failed to claim the record for most international not-outs for himself - currently he is joint holder of that record along with Muttiah Muralithan.

Yes, I did literally just read this off cricinfo

Big win for WI and big loss for India. We need to find answers to plug holes in our batting.

He's the only reason India are still in the game. If Dhoni was actually playing in an ODI it could have been the match-winning partnership.
A 'typical Rahane ODI knock' is one in which he shows great promise, plays some gorgeous strokes, takes the team to a good position when he's playing well but fails to deliver the knock-out punch. That's what separates Rahane from very good ODI players.

Kusal Mendis and Tom Latham are the other 2 players who often play similar ODI knocks.

The issue is not just Dhoni really. Three positions are not set in stone - the ones occupied by MSD, Yuvraj and Jadhav. Then, having both Jadeja and Pandya also leaves a bit of an issue as Jadeja is not a specialist.

Rahane, Dhawan, Kohli, MSD (?), Jadhav(?), Pant(?), Pandya, four bowlers.

Plus Rohit.

It is one of my favourite sights in ODI cricket to watch Jadeja get dismissed with a slog to long on when almost a less than run a ball 20 is required to win the game, and his subsequent shake of head and disappointment as though it's happening for the first time.

I don't remember him getting you into a good position very often. Before this series he's only ever looked like a weak link in a strong lineup.

Here he was the only batsman who even looked like getting you to the target. Having a great series.

People forget that Rahane has improved tremendously as a player in the last couple of years. He had weaknesses outside off stump which he has removed a fair bit for example. The Rahane of two years back was a poor ODI player, yes. Today, not so.

I think his point is that even when Rahane is having a good day, he'll not win you the game. That's a stark difference between him and the others vying for the spot, Dhawan, Sharma, etc.

Fine but I still found the statement flawed in the context of the innings.
