In the old days there's used to be Cricket Web Awards quite regularly including an Inzaman Award for the most baffling post of the month. I think there's a strong case for bringing it back especially for this.

So once you get past the inexplicably crap presentation I think OP has a question -

How is Sean Ervine currently playing for Hampshire and Matabeleland at the same time, as Cricinfo are showing?

Answer - mistake by Cricinfo. Sean Ervine hasn't played in Zimbabwe for years and never played for the Tuskers, he played for the Rocks. It's actually Craig Ervine playing in Zimbabwe.

I thought what he was trying to say was pretty obvious from all the asterisks, though I suppose it could've been made easier with bolding and underlining. Or you know, a simple explanation.

Have you (or anyone else) told Cricinfo that they've got them mixed up? I imagine they'd want to know since not only is the scorecard showing the wrong player, but it'll mean both players' stats are wrong as a result

It's true though. I think I'm right in saying that a few years ago even a suggestion that Garry Sobers couldn't bowl ended up on there not long after someone rubbished him on here even though it was just an Imran fan boy with a grudge.
