100 up for Theunis de Bruyn. 3rd so far in this round to go with 2 90's. Keegan Petersen currently 76*. Cobras in for pasting.

It nice to see most of the players in the national setup coming in and getting runs at domestic level.... but it does also show the FC standards is much to low that practically all of them have scored runs so easily.

It is unfortunate. Last 2 seasons have been like that. What do runs and wickets mean anymore at this level. You can't trust it on face value.

Be great to see the strongest sides playing & competing. Nothing more exciting.

I saw on twitter a fan attacking cricket writer Lungani Zama saying that there is a white agenda still and whites are getting the opportunities. It was in reference to why Markram and not Zondo.

First thing about Zondo is he was given his debut by the Dolphins while barely 18 and he got opportunities and floated for ages averaging low to mid-20s. The last season got his average up to high 20s.

Where as Markram won the U19 WC as captain at 19 but had to wait till he was 21/22 for his debut at the highest domestic level.

Agenda ? Colour driven. Unfortunately the next generations will continue to be reminded and differences will happen. More and more friendships are being built now but government makes it difficult.

Can only imagine the number of awkward conversations telling certain players they can't be picked.

100 up for Keegan Petersen. Looks a very compact and organised player. May come back to bite them not backing him more.

Only white and colored players are performing.Black players are no way near the performance worthy of international cricket

Not true. Rabada is.

Bavuma is cusp. Capable of standing up but needs to start doing it now.

Magala, Phehlukwayo, Zondo, Leie, Ramela, Phangiso, Mosehle, Dala, Ngidi are deserved domestic starters. Maybe not permanent fixtures but they aren't being driven to be so with quota rules. Their positions are assured.

Some talented younger one's around like Sipamla, de Zorzi, Makhanya, Zuma, Cele & in the current SA u19s Makwetu, Mokagane, Ntini

The fear is they pushed before they ready. That effects them, players around them and in effect the whole system.

Dala is a trundler of the highest order and less said about Mosehle the better

Reeza Hendricks moved back to number 4 where he originally was a middle order bat but got his chance as a 19/20 year-old as an opener at the Knights. It also allows for Rickelton/J.Malan to push for opening spot at the Lions with Cook/vd Dussen currently holding the position. At number 5 is vd Bergh but it allows like for like Ackerman to push him.

JJ Smuts with 117 for Warriors.

Theunis de Bruyn 195. Keegan Petersen 141

“To ensure we do not disappoint our loyal fans over the traditional Boxing Day period and to take advantage of our brand-new lights at St George’s Park, we will host Zimbabwe in the first ever 4-day D/N Test match to be played. The Test status of the match is subject to ICC approval.

What the **** is a 4-day D/N Test match?

Toyana backing Mulder at 4 is a good move. Proper batsman and this exposure will push him on.

Reeza Hendricks must have injured himself because came in number 8. Currently playing a T20 innings. Funny how you find things out by default but I reckon he should stay middle order in 4-day cricket.

After 16 ings without a 50-run 1st wkt part, (except for 57/0 by the Springboks) the Proteas just might have a new opener in Aiden Markram

Ken Borland‏ @KenBorland 3m3 minutes ago
Aiden Markram bowled by left-arm spinner Keshav Maharaj just as he had twin centuries in sight - out for 87 off 89 balls. Test certainty

I can't see how they can keep Markram out of the team at the moment, the speed he scores at is also nice. Good to see Elgar score runs as well.

Formality. The thing is, his character is one that even if there is initial failure at the highest level I think he will deal with it and come back from it.

Yeah Dean has been great for SA. Needs to nail down dominance levels now to get his average into the 40s and stay there.

Hash also nearing a 100. This time in the middle much needed. Bavuma a duck though.

Our bowlers : Rabada, Morkel, Maharaj definitely have had to toil. Olivier a bit now too.

Just on a side note. David White was once the SA 'A' opener after a stellar season with the Warriors. Must be 4 years ago now. Since then he has had no luck - multiple hand/finger injuries and then missed so much cricket. I see he has had to retire hurt after taking more blows to the hand at the Wanderers.

And the two of them sharing partnerships of 52 and 184 strengthens the case for Markram even further. There's just no logical reason not to select him.
