Kolpaks in and Irish/Scottish out

Seems the trend now.
Especially the Irish are aging quick and their young players have been cut too.
Their are more Scotsmen, but pressure is on them to perform or hit the door on the way out, like The Irish.
Fortunately Ireland has a first class comp, but Scotland doesn't.

As more countries are able to offer central contracts, players don't need to play county cricket to earn a living and can do so in Scotland with a central contract. Netherlands are going to have real problems after brexit as they will no longer qualify as non home grown players.

Scotland don't have many central contracts, thus why their captain quit,Scottish still need County contracts.

If its so Ireland gets Test status as indicated, their will be more contracts for tests, one dayers and T20's,plus contracts for their first class comp.
Suprised hardly anyone from the last Irish under 19 team have missed out on county contracts, because they had some good talent.
But in the end a county cricket contract is worth more at this stage, than a national Irish contract,County cricket big cash, ask the S Africans.

I'd be curious to know how the rare game time $$$ in county stacks up against the dosh you get from a year of playing Afghanistan and other associates when you get the rare chances.
