Ervine, bowling offspin, in front of Crane in the bowling pecking order. Probably shouldn't ink Crane in for a test debut this year then. Then again it probably takes one good game on tv for they hype train to reignite.
Now he's on a roll, hopefully

His second dismissal sounds a classic. Half tracker that virtually bounced a second time. Better start loading up the coal.

OUT: Would you believe it. Crane bowls a long-hop that yorks Elgar on the second bounce. He goes for 60 and Somerset are 118/6

Somerset in some trouble if they lose this (as looks likely). Abell averaging 12.85 with the bat, Davies 8.71, Gregory 8.2 (currently batting), Hildreth 21.28, Trego 23.14. Ouch. Will be bottom of the championship

oohh virdi just gated Foster with a beauty. tasty

5fer for Crane. He needed that, if you can't take wickets as a spinner at Taunton then you shouldn't be playing FC cricket.

Yeah I wonder if Somerset are going to rethink this policy now although I suppose they are going to need wins now and it at least guarantees a result which the flat pitches never could. I think there was an awful lot of bad batting the last 3 days though and that is their biggest problem.

Worcestershire drop Tom Kohler-Cadmore over Yorkshire interest | Cricket | ESPN Cricinfo

Kohler-Cadmore moving to Yorkshire. Reportedly dropped from the next Worcestershire game.

ugh this is brutal for Worcestershire and county cricket in general.

Worcestershire have a lot of good quality youngsters (both already in the first team and others still at school and 2nd team) but if they all get picked off before they really develop through it's going to be bad. Joe Clarke another who is rumoured to possibly leaving. How do second division counties really develop (and move up to div 1) if they lose their best young english players to div 1 clubs. They are probably going to go further down the kolpak route. It's a hammer blow to a club like Worcestershire (and probably English cricket in general) who have been developing lots of young english talent over the last couple of years.

They might have to look at the two division thing again. It's increased the standard for div 1 players, but there are a group of teams at bottom of div 2 who are stuck in a vicious cycle. It can take a period of 3-5 years to develop a side but by that time your best players may have been picked off, because anyone wanting to play for England will be looking to play in div 1.

All the best to him. Miles off the pace required to play Yorks 1s. Might get the odd T20 game but that's about it. Enjoy the 2nds. #notbitter
