Pattinson's wearing the thickest sweater in England based on the highlights. Looks a hell of a lot chubbier than he actually is.

Jennings going well against the Notts lineup.

Essex still liable to collapse if Cook falls early in the afternoon session imo. Cook has two fifties in the game, no-one else has one.

Yes the Essex game isn't done yet, but we've done incredibly well to get to this point and have the game in our hands. Cook absolutely leading the way, without wishing to speak too soon, he should be leading us to our first victory of the season.

Two weeks in a row that Sibley has come in and just blocked for Surrey. Surrey have been in good positions both times and both innings have completely lost momentum as a result of Sibley's go slow tactics. Kind of crap that should get you dropped.

I'm sure he'll be fine in time. Wickets early season are very slow. A bit of pace (if the pacer isn't swinging/seaming it) is sometimes easier to play that the medium pacer.

Three of your guys injured today or yesterday. Ackermann (hand), Roussouw (?) and Philander(groin)
True wrt the wickets at this time. I just think it's 50/50 whether he has the nous to adapt.

Looks like Ackermann and Philander aren't too small an injury as not taking further part in their games. People can say whatever they want but Philander is physically not 100% and hasn't been for quite a few months now.

Rossouw has come out and on his way to a 100.

Warks are certainly setting the standard for division one relegation favourites at this early stage.

If Somerset have a result pitch that's supposed to skirt the edges of acceptable, it's quite reassuring to see Cook make a fourth innings hundred on it.

Also, If Yorks don't win this again I will be miffed and possibly even peeved.

Warwickshire 5/3 after conceding a 200+ lead.

Hampshire will probably hope that Berg and co continue to give Rossouw support because at the rate he is scoring they could have a decent lead and have a few overs at Middlesex this evening.

Was going to make a post about how Surrey were going to be really big contenders this season (still might be of course) but the afternoon has not gone as expected.

Northeast making runs again.

Lancs spinners, Parry and Kerrigan, really it put the brakes on any momentum Surrey have tried to gain. Figures of 19-10-20-1 for Parry and 24-12-23-2 for Kerrigan at this stage are both quite incredible. As alluded to earlier with the point made about Sibley, surely one of he, Foakes or Ansari could have tried something to wrestle the initiative of the day in their favour, or maybe they did try but failed.

Poor Rilee. From their twitter it sounded like a top knock.

But seriously who has been hiding Ben Coad and why ?

Patterson, Brooks, Sidebottom , Plunkett been the main boys but still.

Matt Fisher needs a bit of luck this season too.
