No, maybe some slight niggles but nothing special. He is now a test specialist for SA.. letting the younger guys do the work in the LO stuff.
Big mistake IMO. They'll need his experience in their line up, it's not like Steyn and Morkel are there spear heading the attack.

Agree, there is some discussion about that... I think it may be decided by whether Morkel comes back well. But SA is experimenting with the allrounder position alot, and it is likely that two of Parnell, Phehlukwayo, Morris and Pretorius will play. I am pretty sure Morris will make the team and then probably Parnell. That would leave 3 bowling spots 2 filled by Rabada and Tahir.... who gets the 3rd? Batting line-up pretty settled for the LO stuff though..

He was injured for much of last year, so at the moment it could be a case of not playing him in the ODIs just to ensure that he is fully recovered. So maybe he's isn't being regarded as a test specialist, but rather just behind Steyn and Morkel in the pecking order, and with both of them out then as mentioned he could come into the reckoning for the Champions Trophy.

The NZ Cricket website suggests the NZ XI v SA warm up 20/20 on Tuesday will be LIVE streamed from EPOO. If the poor weather forecast permits !

Love a tour to New Zealand.

Who can forget the glued pitch at Auckland and the crater on the pitch at Hamilton.

Best part for SA viewers is it generally starts 11:30 instead of 01:30 in Australia and it finished early enough to get a few hours sleep before it's not too late in the morning.

Still would be nice if New Zealand are the innovators of Night / Morning test matches :whistling :whistling

I'm glad Vern is bowling well and I'm really glad he did well in Aus.

Remember when all the Aussie posters were saying he was a useless fatty and would pretend to be injured so he didn't have to bowl on flat decks?
False, an absolute falsehood. I always shilled for Vern in spite of his absolute cowardice when it comes to flat decks.

In other news, unlucky to have today's warm-up game abandoned without a ball bowled. I'm 90 minutes up the road and haven't had a drop of rain today.

It was raining pretty much all day in Avondale (down the road from Eden Park) so I can see why there was no cricket today.

That's every warm up game for the opposition, correct? All rained off.

They need a back up day.. Or hire a couple buses to take them to a place with no rain if possible! (if it wasn't raining 2 hours away). Frustrating.

I don`t think its to much of an issue. The squad was still playing SL less than a week ago.... If we where playing the test matches first I would be more worried. Not gonna worry about a hit and giggle T20 that will get us going anyway..

Who would you open with if they had bought Rossco in?

TBH, I don't think Taylor is a great T20 player, they have KW for the anchor role, and 5 other guys around him who hit at a big strike rate. Rossco can take a bit to get going, and doesn't have the 6 hitting he had in his mid twentys. That's not a bad thing, he's far better churning out runs in other formats than previous.

Sounds like bad communication to Taylor though, I'd tell him that a one off T20 is ideal for young guys like Bruce and Phillips to get international experience, don't take any offence, you are a top player in ODI's and Tests, which is far more important.

But then they select Brownlie over Worker for the one dayers, which completely ignores the age vs promise thing.. Confusing bastards.

Gutted about Guptill, he's our best white-ball batsmen these days in both T20s and ODIs. Do we know if it's only the T20 and 1st ODI's he's been ruled out for so far?
