Here are Swepson's bowling performances this Shield season.

    Vs NSW
    15 - 0 - 65 - 0
    11 - 0 - 65 - 1 (warner out for 134)

    Vs VIC
    20.2 - 2 - 107 - 2 (Wade bowled 3, Holland 5 - last wicket)

    Vs WA
    28 - 2 - 100 - 2 (Wells stumped 46, Klinger 9)
    16 - 3 - 56 - 3 (Turner c&b 49, Whiteman 5, Agar 5)

    Vs WA
    4.3 - 0 - 14 - 2 (Moody 9, Turner 100 - last wicket)
    4 - 0 - 23 - 0

So overall pretty expensive. He has dismissed two tailenders and a couple of batsman that were definitely taking him on. These numbers don't scream out pick me.

He has almost 0% chance of actually playing, barring injury or severely bad performances

Would take him over Zampa tbh. Somewhat surprised he wasn't picked, there seemed to be a bit of a hype train around him earlier in the season but it's disappeared.

Really hard to imagine that happening to an Australian side in India tbh.

Swepson is one of GChappell's up and comers.Played for CA XI in 2015.

He doesn't deserve to be picked on his performances but once you go past Lyon and O'Keefe, (Holland being injured), what spinner does ?

He is not up to top level cricket yet but hopefully he will be in the future.

Greg C also thought Raina was the best batting talent he had seen in India, so not sure what that means.

So did some of you guys. Teja had him down for 8,000+ runs at 50, and some people backed him to be better than Kohli when predicting who would be the best Indian batsman of the youngsters who emerged around 2010.

Teja was in love with Sreesanth too... If GC's taste is as bad as Teja's then may the heavens help him.

I ****ing hate how Dhoni managed him. You don't flog your players to the press no matter what they do as long as it is not against the team's interests.

Yeah, that's what we are up against.

Its not that these blokes don't have talent, it's just that they are not held up against a measurable standard.

I'm not a massive recent Chappell fan, and given his recent record I'm wondering if it was the other selectors in the 80s who plucked the young Aussie blokes who eventually became greats and GC just went along with them.
