India,S Africa and Australia have played eachother, home and away the last 3/4 seasons.
Means the lesser sides A sides are not playing these big 3,and nor are teams like Scotland,Ireland and Afghanistan.
Their should be structure for A series.
S Africa,India and Australia are not doing their bit to develop lesser sides, gather their is a bit of sponsoreship in thisTri series, its nothing but pure gree'd.
Not enough done by these Boards on doing their bit.:@

Myth that the big 3 don't play the others much isn't it?

In the same period, India and have played NZ, West indies and SA home and away. Australia have played NZ, West indies, SA, SL and Pakistan home and away. England have played SL at home twice, and Pakistan away twice, NZ, WI and SA home and away.

Plus, Australia and India have their biggest ever tours to SA (4 tests) scheduled next year.

Well they could play other teams.8-)
Their needs to be an organised stucture for A sides,so its even. How are other sides going to get better.

Tough one Brock.

They came to this agreement quite a few years ago and alternate on location once every three years.

Their aim is to try close the gap to their first team and the three boards feel it is best by doing this tri-series every winter. Remember Australia ued to host that future tour where New Zealand was also involved and that was many years ago so this sort of relationship has been going for a while now and probably where the idea started.

I know the SA 'A' side is heading over to shadow our main team this winter in England. The last time SA 'A' went to England was probably about 1995. So not sure if this will throw out the arrangement but the tri-series is normally August, September isn't it ?

Can we not refer to them as the 'big three' ? I think the 'richest three' is better and more accurate.
Eh they also have the largest cricket playing/watching populations out of all the nations too. Thats how they became the richest to begin with.

Not suggesting you're 100% wrong, but that's quite a simplistic way of looking at it by just listing a bunch of series that have occurred recently & calling it a myth.

I'd be more interested in how many tests those teams have played against one another in the last 5 years.

Example. NZ have played Australia & SA in 5 test matches respectively in the last 5 years, whereas England and Australia have played 15 tests in that time, England and India 14 times.

I'm fairly certain Bangladesh and Pakistan have 2 of the big three beat there.

35 million (approx) of that 39 million Caribbean population live on those cricketing hotspot islands of Cuba, Hispaniola (Dominican Republic and Haiti) and Puerto Rico. So you're well out.
