Yeah I'd mostly agree with that. Not sure about the 2 specialist spinners but I guess since the team will never actually play things like team balance don't really matter.

Mostly agree with the Fox Sports XI but I'd try and find room for de Kock at least. Not sure on Brathwaite either, apart from that Test in the UAE I don't think he did a hell lot.

Not Terrible
Statistically

On batting top 7 (10 innings min, positions 1-2 and 3 chosen by best statistically in that position, then 4-6 by stats for 3-6, then wicket keeper chosen by keepers alone)

Azhar Ali 734 @ 61.16
KC Braithwaite 592 @ 59.20
CA Pujara 836 @ 55.73
V Kohli 1215 @ 75.93
SDP Smith 914 @ 60.93
LRPL Taylor 606 @ 60.60 (Bairstow 1470 @ 58.80 would be more accurate though, Taylor scored those runs against Zimbabwe mostly)
Q de Kock 589 @ 65.44

On bowling (15w min)

Mehedi Hasan Miraz 19 @ 15.63
HMRKB Herath 54 @ 17.53
N Wagner 41 @ 21.04
MA Starc 45 @ 21.51
K Rabada 42 @ 22.23

Best allrounders

R Ashwin 612 @ 43.71, 72 @ 23.90
BA Stokes 904 @ 45.20, 33 @ 25.81
RA Jadeja 375 @ 37.50, 43 @ 24.55
Woakes 493 @ 30.81, 41 @ 25.41

I'd probably go:

Cook
?????
Smith
Kohli
Root
Stokes
Bairstow
Ashwin
Starc
Rabada
Anderson

There's probably a couple of glaring omissions there. Root doesn't feel particularly right but other than Kohli and Bairstow I can't really think of any batsmen that have had amazing years. You could maybe drop Stokes for a specialist bat but he's had an amazing year with bat and ball.

Anderson/Starc over Herath probably the most contentious call but minnow bashing Zimbabwe and Australia isn't that impressive IMO

Had no idea Wagner had such a good year which shows how much attention I paid to New Zealand v Pakistan.

He did pretty well against Australia and South Africa when we got trounced. Unfortunately Southee/Boult didn't turn up so we got totally paddled.

De Kock instead of Kohli, right?
