Nathan Lyon v. Ravi Jadeja

Furball

Evil Scotsman
Jadeja seems to be one of those guys destined to go through his career being under-rated (like Gillespie maybe?). Funnily enough, it probably works to his advantage as long as they see Ashwin as the main threat.
I think part of this is because Jadeja looks like he should be rubbish. His action looks really lazy and half arsed, like he's just sauntering up for a few lazy throw downs for the batsmen to smack.

Noah

School Boy/Girl Captain
That he's been able to take so many wickets is a testament to how useful the rest of Australia's bowling attacks have been during his era. He gets the "Oh good, it's Lyon, let's spank him" treatment.
I've never got that impression from watching Lyon's bowling - he may generally be Australia's third or fourth best bowler but that doesn't mean his success only comes as part if some 'trickle down' effect from the rest of the team.

Certainly his economy rate doesn't seem to support the idea that batsmen are consistently targeting his bowling and throwing their wickets away as a consequence.
