*Official* Bangladesh in New Zealand 2016/2017

An age group all black got briefly accused after/during a youth world cup in south africa before it was withdrawn. Paul Perez beat his missus iirc and got deported, but he played for a pacific nation and never declared for NZ from memory.

closest the NZRU have had to this was the stripper assault thing with the Chiefs, another Waikato based sports team.

Looks like NZ got their own Rubel although his case was different but once again that critical word "consent" comes into this as well

In other news, Bangladesh won the toss and chose to bowl. Surprised to see them resting Fizz, he was pretty good in the first game and would surely only improve with more match fitness.

Not necessarily; the flaw with the jury system is that you're asking non legal people to make decisions that have legal technicalities involved. The judge strongly implied that reasonable doubt had been met as a condition and the jury remained hung.

Interestingly, lawyers aren't allowed on the jury.

Generally it will be put to the jury reasonably simply what they have to decide and it will all have been explained to them why they are deciding on that particular point - the legal technicalities will have been hashed out between the lawyers already - if it hasn't then the lawyers involved haven't done their job correctly.

Technical issues creeping back in for Guptill... playing around those straight ones with a tiny bit of shape.

Pitch doing a bit and also holding up. Bowler put it in the right places. Agreed though Guptill didn't play it particularly well.

There's def something in the surface, but when Guptill is on song technically he can play those straight ones swinging in a touch. Especially against a 125 km bowler like Mortaza is these days.

I can't believe I ate the whole thing
I suppose consistency in team selection is important, but I want to see some wh33lin and d33lin

edit: He's in the T20 squad, not the ODI one. Having a shocker lately

But seriously would've liked to seen a different bowling attack this match.
