Medium pacers in international cricket

Julian87

State Captain
Harris wasn't a medium pacer IMO. Bowled the same **** that Kumble did.

Anyway I'll nominate Khaled Mahmud, who was ****ing rubbish and pretty much picked as a specialist captain and Bryan Strang. Strang was about as gentle as I've seen from an international new ball bowler.

I personally hated watching Farhaan Berhadien masquerade as an "allrounder" for a few years. His mediums were horrible. Although he never truly advocated himself as a bowler of any true skill in interviews.

Warner, barely part-timer, is actually a leg-spin bowler fyi.
I think he's given up on leg-spin and does indeed bowl slow-mediums. Pretty sure that's what he was bowling in the ashes last year, anyway. Maybe he mixes it up a bit, I'm afraid I don't know.

Barely a bowler at all (although he does have one test wicket) but Ali Cook must be close to the slowest seam up bowler ever.

Was slower than a lot of spinners.

Nah, you can't call them medium pacers when he ran his fingers over every ball the way he did.

Actually Harris was a legit medium-pace (slow medium) swing bowler for the first 5-6 years of his career. It was from about 1996 that he started running his fingers over the ball & bowling cutters as his stock delivery.

Check footage of his bowling in the 1992 world cup for example.

There is a video out there comparing Warner's legspin action to Warne's. They're actually very similar, almost identical.

His CricInfo profile describes his 'bowling' style as "right-arm slow". Serious.

Basically because it's what the team needed - if they want part time leg spin they'll use Smith, and none of the other batsmen would send down some part time seam if needed.

CA uploaded a video of Warner and Wade bowling medium pacers with the pink ball in the nets in their Instagram account today

Warner looks decent tbh

Probably around that. He was faster before English fan hooliganism invaded Australia at the WACA in 1982/83.
