Chandimal doesn't play Limited overs anymore.Plus Gunathileke will be back and so would be Tharanga.Chandinal is no longer considered for LOs.
Pretty sure Chandimal will be considered for ODIs now that there are new selectors in place. Obviously runs in the tests could help him too.

He will play more ODIs than Dhoni and the Test match.

I don't think so.
Asela Gunaratne will be fit for the ODIs for sure.Him and Kusal Perera(who last played in CT Vs India) might be prioritized over Chandimal.
Not to forget Siriwardena also.
Chandimals ODI future looks bleak.

Chandimal is the last in that list TBH

As you probably watch SL more than any of us, where would you rank Chandimal along that list randy?

As an outsider he seems the most accomplished current SL bat along with Mathews. Is he out of form or not suited to Odis?

It is safe to say he's out of form as well. But he just hasn't been all that consistent in both formats. Not just himself,Mathews is yet to hit test hundred after 2015,where he was averaging exceptionally well as a captain second only to Bradman's.But once the stalwarts in Sanga, Mahela retired burden was too much on him,and as a result the dip in the form in test cricket.

Same could be said of Chandimal.Chandimal, Thirimanne,Mathews had decent start to their careers, but once the big guns retired, they couldn't live up to the expectations.

I don't think we would consider Chandimal for ODIs,as he is not consistent anymore as in 2016,and ODIs is no longer a format where you can afford many sub 80 SR batsmen.

Dickwella,Mendis, Gunathileke,Kusal Perera,Mathews,Asela all bat with SR of 80+.

Chandimal was handed over only the test captaincy which also sums up about the selectors take on his LOs future.

There are a lot of picks left so hopefully it speeds up soon, otherwise I will need to make some rules up to get this done before the end of the month.
