Australia 1948 thanks

1. S Barnes
2. A Morris
3. D Bradman
4. N Harvey
5. L Hassett
6. K Miller
7. D Tallon
8. C McCool / I Johnston
9. R Lindwall
10. W Johnston
11. E Toshack
I don't know if this actual side took the field, but it'd have to be the greatest XI ever presented by a test nation.

Morris
Barnes
Bradman
Hassett
Miller
Harvey
Johnson
Lindwall
Tallon
Johnston
Toshack

Throw Loxton in for Ian Johnson if you want a bit of extra seam. The 1948 Australian team was incredibly flexible, with Miller a genuine all rounder and Lindwall/Ian Johnson better than average tail enders.

Actually, hold on a moment - are we drafting more than one pick each?

Hope we go back up the order because I'm imagining putting two teams together in different ways and it's fun

Imagine if O'Reilly lasted another couple of years (why he came back after the War to only play one Test seems strange to me). With him instead of Johnson it'd be the best side of all-time, no questions asked.

He took 8 wickets in that last test too. Thinking he probably wanted to concentrate on his journalism career at that point.

interesting Noble, the trade-off between Donald and Amla/AB is tough but 2 players are better than 1

and Pak '92 is interesting too didn't even think about that. Anwar/Saleem/Inzie/Miandad with the bat, Imran/Wasim/Waqar/Mustaq with the ball, quite a force

Steyn compensates for the loss of Donald.

Defintely would take Amla/AB/Steyn over Donald.

AndrewB to double pick I think.

Hope we do get to pick again. I've got a list of 6 sides I'd like to augment my XI

Maybe pick 2 should be ODI teams and we run 2 comps. Atm poor Andrewb is really disadvantaged

Guys lets stick to picking one squad and option to change the team from that squad if you advance to Round 2/3.

Howe's team adjusted to 1946

Kk's team adjusted to 2001

I will update the squads once I get home
