**Official** England in Bangladesh 2016

Its already selected I think. Its Kolkata, Eden Gardens iirc.

For the man of the match, there can be an argument for Tamim but for the series, Miraz is more deserving. Also Stokes in contention.
All of those options are deserving, but it should go to Kumar Dharmasena who made the series even more exciting

Congratulations to Bangladesh, would beat a lot of teams right now. We all know England have huge weaknesses but we such a fun side, on to India, sure we will probably be thrashed but we might make a couple of Tests interesting.

Well played England. The whole series including ODIs have been awesome. Shame no decider for this.

Thanks for coming to Bangladesh.
Congrats to Bangladesh on their win and I'm genuinely happy for you AZH.......not for ***** though, he can GAGF with his bet hedging and supporting of 2 teams:ph34r:

This has been an outstanding series with great cricket between two flawed but very entertaining sides. I see no shame in coming out of this with a 1-1 draw.......to suggest it is a low point in English cricket is a nonsense and disrespectful to a very decent Bangladeshi side.

Already been some atrocious writing on the loss. Dobell chiming in with the classic bit about how a team with our resources shouldn't be losing to little ol' Bangladesh.

It's a good job cricket isn't played in a boardroom isn't it you ****wit.

How could a little 19 year old with no doosra possibly bowl out our lineup of titans? Isn't life so unfair when you're ****ing English of all things.

U19 Captain
First 11 tests: 1060 runs @ 62.35, people say he's the long-term replacement for Trott
Next 10 tests: 353 runs @ 18.37, people actually prefer James Vince to him

His stock really has fallen.

I still feel that he'll come back in a few years and give decent service to England, though.
way too many on here just go on cricinfo and find stats.

Actually talk about what you see and if you watch Ballance, he has looked all sorts of rubbish for a while now. He doesn't know when to play certain strokes, he hasn't looked positive and he always looks worried, with his legs moving around slowly and his arms stretching. It's a sure sign of someone who is unsure of himself at the highest level against tough, probing bowling.

Let's not get too carried away. They can't and won't beat India and Pakistan. That's been proven time and time again.

SL are no longer as good a team as they were a while back but I reckon they'd still beat them.

Bit blunt? I know full well that stats don't tell the whole story. I thought it might be interesting to look at just how badly he's done after a very promising start to his career, but obviously not. Sorry if you feel the time you took reading my post was time wasted.

Don't worry about it mate. LTM dissed Allan Border in a previous post. That's all you need to know about him

Ballance's dismissal yesterday was atrocious. I was a really big fan of his back in the day but he desperately needs a spell.

I know it's been said a thousand times already but it's a crying shame that James taylor had to retire as a straight swap between he and Ballance improves this side on the subcontinent so much.

It's an impossible task when you have half a batting lineup.

I find it bizarre though that people who were throwing around the 'arrogance' and 'hubris' claims took particular exception to the Batty/Ansari swap but could see merit in swapping Broad for Finn.

I don't think you can have it both ways... it can't be okay to manage Broad's workload with a view on the future. Or if it is then that's the prioritising of one series over another than these people seemingly had an issue with. He's either fit to play or he's not and when there's such a marked difference between Broad's ability as a bowler in the subcontinent and Finn's ability as a bowler in general.... we might as well have played with 10.

I think it's a lot easier to justify the Batty/Ansari swap on the basis that in the first Test Batty was the second best off spinner on his team and it's not unreasonable to suggest that a SLA might have been more useful

Besides that... I'm made up for Bangladesh. It's something I think most cricket fans have wanted to see for a little while... I just want wish it hadn't had to happen to England!

But there's no shame in losing to a side that played as well as Bangladesh did in this Test. First of many.

Yeah sure India and Pakistan but would back them to beat West Indies, Australia and New Zealand. We know they can give South Africa a game as well.

I get your point, but that's presuming that was the reason. If the reason was "we'd like to see how this young fella goes", then its arrogant and/or disrespectful, because they wouldn't have done that in the second test vs. South Africa when they are 1-0 up in a 2 test series.

I don't get all the defence of Ballance. Disregarding stats entirely, just watching him in the last Ashes series was damning for me. He looked so bad it was cringe-worthy. Now maybe he was just in really, really, really bad form. But surely there's better players in England.

FMD nothing is better than seeing that sour sack of **** Dobell have a wahhhh in his articles. Just the epitome of a whingeing pom.

I refused to read his article this morning after the first line where he stated this was a low point In English cricket history.......he can gagf.

I thoroughly enjoyed these two tests and tbh I'm not even that disappointed that we lost the last one, I think 1-1 is a pretty fair score for the series. OK I'm disappointed that we lost 10 wickets for **** all in the chase, but that was the nature of the series really with collapses on the cards at any time for both teams.......made it very entertaining if nothing else.

Haven't enjoyed a series so much in a long time. Partly because I had lots of time to follow the games this time with conveniently timed holidays etc. Wish there had been a decider.
