Yet more evidence (not that any was needed) that Blundell is just plain better than whatever overhyped trash ND put out against him.

You're as biased as they come but to say Watling is overhyped is laughable. This is the same kid who can't even get past Ronchi with the gloves ffs.

'You're as biased as they come'

I love BJ. But that's the same kid who got dropped for someone who was dropped then didn't really do anything to get back in. And on 50-odd, did his side a favour by getting out last night.

Blundell is the next New Zealand wicketkeeper. Sorry mate.

So we're honestly advocating that Blundell is somehow better than BJ, when BJ's test record is better than Blundell's first class record?

Discussing limited overs sides.

When Ronchi moves on, which will probably be the end of the season (I doubt they'll contract him again), Blundell is the limited overs keeper. They picked him for NZ A, and he's hardly put a foot wrong since then in all formats.

No interest in Latham keeping, the bulk of his energy needs to be focused on firstly becoming the Test opener he should be, then the ODI opener he could be.

Well that was a brilliant innings from Blundell last night, anyway. Capable of playing shots all around the ground ... I think he must be first option for a 20-20 call up if Ronchi ever gets given the push, now.

Ronchi looks just as good at domestic level mind ... dunno what goes on in internationals, he produced up until the 170. Think he's just mentally wrecked for some reason now.

If Blundell is good with the bat, why didn't Wgtn play him as a batsman ahead of Murdoch and Pollard in the early part of the Super Smash when Ronchi was keeping?

He was injured. I wondered that at the time too, but yeah, ended up spotting something on the Wellington cricket website saying he had some sort of injury.

Debuts soon for Malcolm Nofal and Obus Pienaar for Wellington as they in the 'A' squad regularly now. James Price for that matter too as he has also dominated club.

Cool, Nofal coaches the kids of a couple of work colleagues. Sounds like a nice guy.

Jeez, three former under 19 players. We really are starting to pick up a lot of these guys coming out of South Africa.

Van Beek's run out is worth a look, is down on the scorecard as "run out (RM Hira/TL Seifert)", but should really be "run out (RM Hira/TL Seifert [assist DJ Mitchell])".

Yeah you had to be wondering who ND would stoop to for its lippy, multi-skilled troll cricket needs this season. Devcich being injured, Seifert and Kelly struggling to offer more than two or three shots that are superficially pretty to look at in each knock.
