My dad's just signed the guy who can bowl in the nineties for my team in the yorkshire league and he's gonna cause some havoc, it'll be like the bodyline series!

who?..what team?..and by bowling in the nineties, do you mean an average of 90 or a speed of 90mph:D

why Irshad, and why not Agarkar, Balji, Munaf or Pathan? doesnt this answer many questions on other threads on this forum.

its most likely true since i heard this would happen. the majority of PAK pacers have played in the yorkshire league before playing for pakistan.

rana naved ul hasan, mohammed akram and shabbir all made a name in the yorkshire league before making debuts.

Probley has something to do with the fact that the above mentioned have to play for a little know side called India in the same time period. :saint:

Good call, Balaji and Pathan doesn't have to play for some club to prove themselves. All the guys that are playing for them are probably losers!

You say that, but a season in the leagues could really enhance their careers and improve their bowling no end.

tis true..the number of players who have played in the Lancahire Leagues or in Yorkshire to hone their skills is amazing.

Dennis Lillee once said that his spell in the lancashire league changed his career,he became a miles better bowler

Not only this but also he can be spotted by some senior level county team and can get a chance to play county cricket, which will be great for his growth as a fast bowler.

already in the pipeline however there was once a promising fast bowler who had a chest on action, when he got a contract with Notts they tried to make him bowl side on and he broke his back and never has been the same.
