    ODI GOAT at cricket.com.au

Since great ODI players seem to be the flavour of the month on CW I thought that I'd post the link to a pretty nice voting competion at cricket.com.au

    ODI GOAT: Bevan v Hussey | cricket.com.au

The current vote is for Bevan V Hussey, quite a difficult choice. Bevan currently leads 51% to 49%.

Incidently, the videos that go with each player description are worth watching.

    At least it was close-ish - 55% to 45% after 12,933 votes.

Yea but Brett was arguably top 5.. while Akhtar barely played. I don't think it's close in ODIs.

Looks like they've split the players into four groups. Two groups are made up of just batsman, one group just bowlers, and the fourth group just allrounders where they're counted wicketkeepers like Gilchrist as allrounders.

The only thing I disagree with is that the spinners have been thrown in with the allrounders rather than with the bowlers for some reason. Despite this discrepency most of the contests will be between players of similar categories.

    Still interesting.

Brett Lee is top 20 material. Not sure how you get top 5, or close to it.

lol mahela is pounding dilshan and that's a joke

mahela was an exceedingly mediocre ODI player but was given more plaudits than he should have received due to exploits in the other formats, while dilly is imo one of the best ODI allrounders ever
    Shady's XI:
M Vijay || A Ali || CA Pujara || KS Williamson || LD Chandimal (wk) || F du Plessis || JO Holder || MM Ali || PJ Cummins || RA Jadeja || VD Philander ||

I feel like ODI voting is always skewed by people adding on Test accomplishments. The whole thing becomes nonsensical fast.

Have you seen his record? There is no way he is not at least top 10 material.

Lee's almost a certainty for top 5. If you can name 20 better ODI bowlers then has off to you.

Yes top 5 of all time seems a bit stretch to me. Can think of 5 immediate contemporaries I'd rank over him
