Afghanistan vs Namibia (ICC Intercontinental Cup)

Imagine how good CW would be if each ICup game actually did generate enough discussion for its own thread. That'd be amazing.

Is this a four day game?

Wouldn't be long ago that Namibia was vastly superior to Afghanistan in all forms of cricket. Now it seems like Afghanistan is actually better.

I wonder what the potential ceiling for the Afghanistan team is? Could they become a Test nation soon, or even a decent one?

This match is being telecasted live in India on DD Sports. Watched complete game till now. Shehzad and Nabi two standout performers. Pitch will be very very tough for Namibia in next innings with the spinners AFG has got.

Looks like Afghanistan settled well at Noida. If this is going to be their "home turf" in the coming years, expecting some booming results from them.

Shahzad's 56 SR ton also indicating that he's not all about slogging.

.. to be fair, this is by far the most posts we've ever seen for a non-final ICup game, probably because it has its own thread. Perhaps if I build it, they will come.

Yeah they're pretty gun in SC conditions but hopefully they retain more of a Pakistan-esque bowling attack rather than a Bangers legion of darters, which would be tempting on these pitches.

Would like to see Dawlat get some reverse later on.

Would Nabi get in a few Tests sides as a 2nd spinner who can bat down the order? Reckon England, South Africa and possibly Aus would have him in as their 2nd spin option (Rashid, Harmer, O'Keefe are not better than him I don't think).

Nabi can easily take the second spinner role if you want a superior bat for the team balance. A bit harsh on Rashid and Harmer though. Solely on bowling merit don't see how they are behind Nabi.

Was shown live on tv here. Didn't know, else would have watched more. Did catch the last hour or so. Congrats Afghanistan!
