    Easy A

Inspired by a recent captain who didn't bowl and didn't bat. He did write an open letter, but that was probably ghostwritten by his team-mates, much like the tournament win.

Instances of captains with easiest routes to lifting a major trophy?

'You will look very silly said Mr Salteena with a dry laugh.
Well so will you said Ethel in a snappy tone and she ran out of the room with a very superier run throwing out her legs behind and her arms swinging in rithum.
Well said the owner of the house she has a most idiotick run.'

Hussey wasn't a captain and he was an ODI great in general but he did nothing when Australia won in 2007.

Bob Simpson mentioned mildly that Taylor had it easy as he was captaining a very good side, a team which he got rather than made.

Pretty sure Collingwood didn't get more than about 15 in our 2010 win.

    That's not specific enough.

That had better be the greatest catch in the history of the game.

if i am not wrong..Sunny Gavaskar had an easy time in India's 1985 B&H Win..he, looking at the records had an easy time batting since Ravi S and Krish Sreekanth opened the innings and obviously Sunny did not bowl at all....

As the 1985 Playfair Annual said: "Perhaps the greatest surprise of the day was when Peter May gave the Gold Award to John Abrahams who was out for nought and didn't bowl, something which, when historians look back in the future, they will find it [sic] very difficult to understand. The award was, however, for his captaincy... So John Abrahams holds a record which may never be broken: an award winner having failed to score or bowl!"

You can see the catch here at about 1:20 - it's nothing special. (Abrahams mentions his Gold Award at the end of the clip).

Might be unpopular but i'd probably vote for Micheal Clarke last year.

Australia would've comfortably survived without him infact he was making their middle-order look weaker.Barely did much imo apart getting runs in the final which was easily chaseable anyway.

It was actually cringeworthy listening to Warne and co. just before the cup saying how badly Australia needs Clarke in the team like as if he's in the form of his life or something.Bailey got hard done by on that occasion.Clarke got picked ahead of him purely because of his status.

Clarke wasn't great in the WC but he wasn't useless. Finch was useless (after starting with a ton).

It wasn't until after the WC and especially the Ashes that Clarke looked about as skilled with the bat as local under-13 C grade no. 11
