Upcoming stars

dhawan looks a great talent, even though he did struggle against PAK under 19 pace bowlers. of all the teams in this tournament pakistan seems to have the most hopefuls of making the national team.

mansoor amjad, tariq mahmood, imran ali pasha and fawad alam will become future stars. hopefully dhawan will too.

I'm very sure that Xavier Marshall, Denesh Ramdin, Assad Fudadin and Tishan Maraj will play for the West Indies senior team, likely within the next 5 years.

I think it will be tough for Dhawan to get into the India senior team. IMO India and Australia are the hardest teams to get into as a specialist batsman, for obvious reasons.

Tom Halsey

International Coach
I fully expect Bopara and captain Cook to become full internationals.

Also, I am very impressed with Bresnan. He appears to be the new Gussie, accurate as ever, although he doesn't move it much.

For sure, at the moment. However, the specialist batsmen against India in the recent Test with Punter at 29, Hayden 32, Langer 33, Lehmann 34, Katich 28, Martyn 32, Waugh 38, they do need replacements in about four or five years, and by that time the U19 players will be old enough.

(of course, it's a shame for Australia that their U19 team seems pretty weak ;))

Judging by the form of Sir Viv and co. they all will be Test cricketers in the next 18 months.

It doesnt matter if you dont do well or very little at Carib Beer Cup level, just show talent and potential and you are in.

It did for Taylor, Lawson, Edwards and Dwayne Smith and many more.

Completely ageed, he has to do something vey special to get into Indian team, there ae so many quality batsmen in India,we are suffering fom embaressment of riches.

For me the star of this tour is Mansoo Amjad, he will be in Pak senior team in a year or two.

Sorry I don't buy that, if India had an embarassment of riches they'd be #1 in world cricket..which they most definately are not.

Until he learns to move it in all conditions, he'll not be a new Gus Fraser.

SA!!

The tournament was a bit of a disappointment, and my "ones to watch havent changed a lot"....

Vaughan Van Jaarsveld is a class batsman and a good leader, Divan Van Wyk looks the biz too... although he is a bit of a commentators nightmare with tha name...

Keegan Africa hasnt changed a lot since he scared the hell out of me in a net session, he should go a long way tho...

A guy ive never seen before, Waylain September... He looks like he can bowl a bit of Slow left arm... He turns it too.. its good too see that some spin is coming out of SA.. especially from the townships....

Im not sure whether these guys are getting much FC experience, although i know Van Jaarsveld is doing nicely at the Highveld Strikers...

He was referring to batting riches, which surely can't be denied; but until they get some bowlers in there, they won't be numero uno.
