If Hameed can't get a gig down under, which would be the preferred option, then I really wouldn't mind taking him to Bangladesh and India, if only to get familiar with the lads. Are the Lions playing anybody over winter?

Rayner having a pretty good season, I don't think England will be thinking of anyone other than Rashid and maybe Ansari but maybe they should be.

There's always this too:

Only this season was in Division 1 of course but it doesn't seem to have nerfed him much.

Nah they definitively have, been on an awful run.

We have managed to score some runs of late though, that loss to Surrey looking really costly though.

Hope Surrey stay up. Currans and others (Roy, Burns, Ansari) really need first division cricket to push forward their england chances. Think they'll be way too strong for div 2 if they get relegated. Having Ansari and S Curran gives them such great balance, depth and range of options for the rest of their team.

Wonder if yorkshire white ball captain Lees will drop out for Yorkshire in the 50 over qf and t20 finals day with the return of Bairstow, Ballance and Root.

Rashid and Borthwick showing some real solidarity with Ali this week by getting smashed around the ground for their counties.

Yorks have plenty of room for him, in the quarter final they had a batsman and a keeper at 8 and 10 respectively. They could leave out Ballance if they decide he's not in form. Side will be Lyth, Willey, Root, Lees, Bairstow, Ballance/Leaning, Rhodes, Bresnan, Plunkett, Rashid, Rafiq.

Looks like the best we can get out of the Roses match is a draw, would like to be pleased for Hameed, but, eugh, not really. Lehmann bounding along at over a run a ball on debut.

Joe Clarke going well again....could do with a few young bowlers doing better though, if you picked an uncapped U25 XI, especially for FC cricket, you'd struggle to decide who to leave out in the batsmen but struggle to find enough worth picking in the bowlers.

Be better off playing Leaning and Ballance imo. Lees averaging 14.42 in 50 over and 22.6 in T20 at a poor strike rates. Even Gale seemingly would be a better white ball bat than Lees.

I think a load have been injured or other

Fisher - yet to play a game with a bad recurring leg strain
Helm - Slipped on wet outfield. Ankle injury out for season.
Stone - Bad knee injury out for season
Luke Wood- Injured and 12th man most of season.
S Curran- School first half of summer

Craig Overton and Tom Curran have been fit for the most part but haven't taken a whole lot of wickets.

It's also been flat so no-one really has been taking a load of wickets

Stone and Helm if they ever get fit will come through quickly imo much like Mark Wood - and Fisher looked an outstanding talent.

Rayner picks up some more wickets, honestly could be a bolter for tours, everyone else has no control, just going to be slaughtered in India.

Massive day at the bottom of div 1 today. Hampshire and Surrey with decent chances of victory. If that were to happen, Notts would be bottom and with a significant point gap to make up.
