Chris Gayle is a man in his own league as he showed in his superb knock of 100 off 48 balls. He required only 47 balls to reach the century, the fastest in the history of T20 World Cups. He has also become the first man to score two hundreds in the history of the competition. Watch the video highlights of Gayle’s magnificent century here.

Meanwhile, West Indies beat England by 6 wickets in the league match. Set a target of 183, West Indies got there in 18.1 overs. The top scorer for West Indies was Gayle, who was superb from the word go in a knock where he slammed 5 fours and 11 sixes. Earlier, riding on Joe Root’s 48, England made 182 for 6 in 20 overs. This after England were put into bat by West Indies in what seemed to be a bit of a surprise.

It was an important match because such is the format of the competition that once you lose a game, you face a prospect of an exit. In that sense, every match becomes crucial and more so if it is the first match for a team in the tourney as was the case with England and West Indies.
