The fascinating world of Cricket Chat. Two threads one after another on Page 1.
One says " Will Bangladesh ever be good?"
The other says "Bangladesh booming, beware"
"This is a clash of strategy. And of methods, culture and politics. This is a new-era rivalry. Not as ancient as the Ashes, or as passionate as India-Pakistan. Two countries that are so different, yet share rampant egotism, high self-opinion and a belief that being born in their country is superior to other births. This brings together a belligerent bunch of brats, bullies and braggers."- Jarrod Kimber

When you consider their recent form, the impression they would have upset Australia if that tour preceded and the impact of Musti and Taskin I think they are competitive with the top 8 in odis and there's no reason they couldn't be in tests either.

But their 2015 test form hasn't really inspired the same kind of hope. Still struggle to pick up 20 wickets, still struggle to post decent totals. Other than one 200 run opening partnership, there isn't much to show. The Aus tour in October last year only featured tests, so I doubt there would have been any upsets. If they played ODIs though, it would be 50-50.

Or is it an Afridi innings-type boob-boom, which will look spectacular but only last a very short while?

4.Bangladesh had their maiden ODI series win against South Africa.

Bangladesh got the two new stars - Sarkar and Mustafizur.

Bangladesh had a best year on there cricket journey and continued in 2016 also by getting into finals of Asia Cup.

I think, now Bangladesh team cannot be consider minor.

    What are your views???
Yes they can't be considered minor because they have had 18 years in international cricket now. But are they booming? No.

I remember I criticised Bangladesh heavily during the time they were ****. Saw a few Bangladesh fans criticise me on some forum of theirs feeling offended.

Because Australia's form on turning tracks against spinners at that time was so good wasn't it?

They haven't been actually preparing turning tracks for Tests in Bangladesh though; they've just been preparing slow roads. The roadiest of slow roads.

They might've changed things up for that series, but assuming they didn't I really couldn't see Bangladesh's bowlers troubling Australia at all.

Australia are poor against spinners on Asian conditions. Yes. But Bangladesh don't really have a test standard spinner who will run through the side. Nor are they very good at posting 500 plus totals very often even on these roads.
