Thanks Andrew. I don't think that I've seen a poll thread put up so fast! Have to recalibrate my eyes though as they're not used to seeing teams without the numbers.

All of the teams are close, bar none, so I need think about the '3 strongest a bit longer' before voting.

Great draft, sorry I missed the start of it!

I think the best player missed by everyone would be Billy Bates, with 50 wickets at 16 and a useful batsman he was a steal at only 15 tests....

And no-one takes Mominul Haq's numbers all that seriously then?

I tried to come up with an xi using none of the players above...

Bob Bolus (7)
George Gunn (15)
Dave Houghton (22)
Seymour Nurse (29)
Darren Lehmann (27)
Billy Murdoch -wk- (18)
Billy Bates (15)
Col McCool (14)
Bruce Taylor (30)
Tony Gray (5)
Peter Loader (13)

I looked at Bates, but went for Barnes instead, and felt Horden was a better spinner.

happy to be in the running here, splurged like 60% my budget on only 2 players but feel it was worth it

I looked long and hard at Houghton and Lehmann.

I feel Bert Ironmonger at 14 tests (with an average of 17) was a tough overlook as well. Man that guy never ever gets drafted

Also Lawrence Rowe at 30 tests is an okayish choice too

I was going to take Dave Houghton but in Tom Moody I got a useful allrounder who helped me save for getting Charlie Griffith. Bert Ironmonger and Billy Bates were on my shortlist as well.

Just noticed that my team's surnames are all from the first half of the alphabet. In fact the bowlers don't have an initial later than F between them (if you allow "Bob" for "Robert").

Looks like OS's pace attack of Andy Roberts (1), Joel Garner (3), and Frank Tyson (2) was too irresistable. And probably rightly so.

I feel like I was punished here for my previous victory
Unfortunately Howe, I think that it's more likely that your team lacked a marquee batsman and a properly fast bowler. No disrespect to Jardine/MacLaren or Cowie.
