Thought this deserved its own thread.

In a way its an expansion of quotas, get more coloured and black players into the system.
Only dilutes the first class system to be honest.
Is 2 more sides sustainable,or unsustainable.
When 11/12 players could be banned with the Ram Slam fixing, could be a league of no names.

Sides aren't mandated to be 100% coloured and black, so it also brings in more white players.

Just get rid of the franchises already and go back to provincial cricket. The FC structure is a mess.

Sorry I am a cynical man, Day Man.
Yes true more white players, hopefully, none from the current under 19 side tho.
They could always do what they we're going 2 do last year and go with 7 players of colour and black players. They could argue overall their would be more white cricketers in first class cricket.
6 sides is the best model.
Yes it is messy rather Australias' system better,We have 6 state sides in first class,7 in one dayers(an experimental side),and 7 sides in the 2nd xl comp(1 Territory side).

This is a terrible idea imho. We went to 6 franchise because the provincial system was too weak and couldn't provide strength vs strength. The talent pool is lower currently imho and its a good idea to expand the franchise's? Give me a break. The only positive would be the odd talent player currently not getting a game because of the poc policy getting a game but then for everyone of those getting a chance another dire player (doesn't matter the colour expanding the teams will also mean some undeserving white players also getting in) will also get in, if not 3 dire players per 1 real talent.

Rather stick to 6 franchise and reduce the current poor poc policy.
