It's actually Bangladesh, but we don't get enough ODI games especially away from home. We have the talent, variety and experience (More than a 1000 ODIs). No way England are better than Bangladesh – they will have 0 chance when they tour Bangladesh this year. Bangladesh severely beaten India and South Africa in 4 of the 6 ODIs played – it was too one-sided, so England stands no chance. Even if Bangladesh played away to England, I still back them to win the series since they have the bowling attack for these conditions.

I even think Bangladesh can win an ODI series against Australia at home, but definitely not away.

I remember that world cup game between Bangladesh - New Zealand – which Bangladesh nearly won. Mustafizur wasn't playing in that game either. Don't know why they have invited Pakistan instead of Bangladesh right now.

No ODI side can win a series against Australia down under. Bangladesh can definitely win ODI series away to Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Zimbabwe, Ireland, Scotland and West Indies.

Pakistan stands 0 chance against Bangladesh in ODIs anymore. Those 3 ODIs lost was too one-sided, and there was no Mustafizur. I expect Bangladesh to have their own winning streak against Pakistan now.

Tbfair to Bangladesh they've played like 10 non-tournament ODIs away from home in the last 4 years or so. They're somewhat of an unknown quantity and deserve ODI tours.
yeah they can play. serious team at home. even australia would have to take them seriously in bangladesh. i think they'd get thrashed away from home in a lot of countries though, dead rubber against NZ aside (and that was at seddon park on the slow low clay iirc, the most favourable pitch type to them).

To be fair, some of the Bangladesh hyperbole being posted is no different to the New Zealand fans overhyping their side.

who gives a **** about some random ODI series in Bangladesh. England lose the ODI matches against Bangladesh that actually matter - World Cup matches. 2011 and 2015

There is barely any difference in ODI pitches around the world. If Bangladesh does well at home, it is reasonable to think that they will be good away from home too.
There is a big difference in the pace of the wicket in bangladesh compared to aus/sa pitches. Ball comes on much better on the true wicket of sa/aus compared to the slow bangladesh pitches, makes it much harder for stroke players.

Truth hurts as you can tell. Even the England under-19 team couldn't beat Bangladesh under-19 in that warm-up. Joe Root also came from that system. England are not better than India or South Africa – 2 teams Bangladesh convincingly demolished by Sarker and Mustafizur. England don't possess such talented limited overs players. Interestingly! no England bowler in ODI history has 3 or more 5 wicket hauls, yet this Mustafizur has 3 in 9 matches thus far lol

That England v South Africa ODI series will tell us a lot how far England have actually come. Still expecting Amla and AB to demolish that English bowling line-up. Won't be surprised if South Africa wins this 4-1 or even 5-0. If England win the series then fair enough – they are a totally different ODI side.

Bangladesh batsman are stroke players. Where was the world cup held? in fact, Bangladesh batsman actually stated they prefer to bat on such wickets compared to the slowish ones; moreover, the pitches used in series against Pakistan and India were actually played on true wickets.

England haven't lost a bilateral ODI series against South Africa for 11 years, beat New Zealand and narrowly lost to Australia so I'm curious as to why this series is suddenly a huge test of how far they've come.

Bangladesh haven't lost an ODI series to NZ for nearly 6 years – what kind of logic is that? how many bilateral series have England-South Africa played each other in those 11 years? yes! surprisingly! even though South Africa have been one of the mightiest Cricket teams since their readmission to Cricket, England is one of those few sides they have found very competitive. But let's be for real, England have been nothing special when it comes to ODIs. The best ODI teams historically have been Australia, India, Sri Lanka and Pakistan.

Pakistan used to be very good up until the early 2000s and for the last 5 years they have been absolute crap at ODIs

England has an awful WC and I thought it would take years for England to look be remotely competitive in this new form of ODIs. Yet first bilateral ODI series after the WC, England get 400 and chase 350 to win one of the best ODI series in years.

Strauss has done an excellent job getting the ODI team full of talented and aggressive players. It's starting to resemble a team that could put in a very good performance in 2019.

In fairness, England have been strong in home ODIs over the last decade, though Australia have consistently beaten them there. Did well at the Champions Trophy in 2004 and 2013. Since the next World Cup will be hosted there, it makes sense to play more at home.
