I quite agree. I think this series will be very tight, wouldn't surprise me if nz won or it was a draw.

By blow in I meant coming late to the discussion(s), nothing more than that

Australian media getting trolled hard :laugh:

It's going to do a bit on Day 1 IMO -- probably more than a normal Basin pitch, and definitely a bowl first wicket. But nowhere near the amount they'll be expecting.

Aust would be bowling in the 2nd session regardless of the toss

Pointless to bring up CWC 2015 again, but it wasn't really lateral movement that was Australia's undoing at Auckland, it was McCullum stunning them with his marshalling of the bowling resources (bringing Vettori early on, and Boult getting an extended spell when everyone expected him to keep back the strike bowlers for the death). Of course, the bowlers did back him up.Had Clarke done the same and bowled Starc right through at the beginning (instead of Johnson who leaked runs like crazy), who knows.

I think it's well established that Australia aren't the greatest against lateral movement, but seeing how threadbare NZ's batting lineup is and the fact that their more test-oriented players (Latham, Watling) haven't had a great summer so far, it looks like it'll simply come down to which lineup happens to have fewer bad days. Could well be the sort of series where one panicky session decides everything.

NZ batting line up especially without Taylor is comfortably inferior to Aust line up but Australia usually bowl crap when they get bundled for small totals. They have a pretty good chance if they insert NZ in assuming that this pitch will retain its green nature come friday

Haha, what an awesome back cover. I'm so excited for this test series. Although it shouldn't even be called a series. These ****** two test series ****** suck. What a joke. Too many ****** Ashes tests these days and not enough Trans-Tasman ones.

I'm a little worried about Aus and Smithy. Still, let's just hope we don't have another 60 all out. Here's to two awesome close contests.

Urgh, worry the selectors have been trolled hard on this deck. Maybe it retains its greeness, but the history suggests otherwise.

Also VITSTL that Bracewell was picked ahead of Wagner and Henry.

Bracewell's selection - given that he's seen as the green pitch specialist - means we've trolled ourselves with the pitch.

It's very McCullum and a great way for him to bow out.

Disappointing but predictable I guess once Santner was ruled out. Guess they've gone for continuity as usual.

I like Bracewell but given Southee and Boult are feeling their way back into cricket he's not the ideal selection. If they were to pick on strike power Henry should've made it and if they wanted a genuine 3rd seamer Wagner would be the better bet. Let's hope the conditions suit.
