    More important than the destination

    they say that the journey is more important than the destination and in light of the recent south africa vs england game i thought it'd be nice to have a thread on the best draws. is it from a very tight finish where a team couldn't get the required runs? or is it an epic blockathon rearguard? perhaps there was just one wicket that refused to be taken. give us your best!
    Shady's XI:
    M Vijay || D Elgar || KS Williamson || LD Chandimal (wk) || Misbah-ul-Haq || F du Plessis || MM Ali || VD Philander || TG Southee || JR Hazlewood || HMRKB Herath

    In the later category:

    1st Test: New Zealand v England at Auckland, Jan 24-28, 1997 | Cricket Scorecard | ESPN Cricinfo

    A 106 run 10th wicket partnership (including Danny Morrison).

    3rd Test: Australia v New Zealand at Melbourne, Dec 26-30, 1987 | Cricket Scorecard | ESPN Cricinfo

    Mike Whitney hanging on against Hadlee. Such a heart breaker.

    Port of Spain 1984 WI vs Aus- Terry Alderman dug in and Kim Hughes and Dean Jones batted well against Marshall, Daniel, Small and Garner (who was sick on the final day). But the match had Allan Border's pivotal 98* and 100* to make it stand out.

    Third Test of the 2005 Ashes series was an epic draw. Ponting's greatest innings imo

    The first England-SL Test last year was pretty epic. Also SA have batted out quite a few draws in recent times, Du Plessis blockathon in Adelaide comes to mind, and one last year in Sri Lanka to win the series.

    SA-India at Johannesburg was an awesome game as well.

    Many of those nominated, especially Cardiff 2009, were pretty ordinary matches that had a good finish. This one was awesome right through.

    Bollocks. I went to that match and spent most of the time watching rain. That was not awesome. Bloody Lanca****e.

    "Day Three

    Rain delayed the start of play until 16:00 BST, and even then only eight overs were possible before play was again suspended, although a further six overs were bowled later on before yet more rain meant that play was abandoned for the day. Australia had the better of the short day's play, adding 50 runs without loss to pass the follow-on target, although Warne was lucky to survive on two occasions thanks to errors by Geraint Jones: when Warne had 55 he missed a relatively straightforward stumping opportunity, and on 68 he was dropped after edging a ball from Flintoff. Australia closed on 264 for 7, still 180 in arrears, but England probably felt that they missed several opportunities to put the game beyond their opponents."
