Imagine the coach of the other mob. "That's ok lads, it's on again next week. You did your best, they're not a bad side, blah blah blah".

This is why the new age approach to coaching is wrong. If a side gets thumped they deserve public humiliation. It's good to see their ineptitude being seen around the world. Hopefully they smarten up and improve enough to lose the next game by an innings and 800 or so.

So apparently Arya Gurukul put out their U-14 team for a U-16 match because the U-16 team players were held back to study for their board exams by the principle.

Makes this match rather cruel and uneccesary tbh.

Opposition bowled out for 31 and the coach is ok with his lads scoring 1450. That's just so wrong. Just cause a kid want's to score 1000 doesn't mean you should let him do it. Sure humiliate the other team so they learn from it, but this is just cruel.

And in that age group.. A couple of years make a huge difference.

would be pretty cool if one of the bowlers on the losing side goes on to become an ATG bowler and the 1009 guy becomes the next Vinod Kambli :p

Well there was a 13 year old who bowled 23 overs against 16 year olds, maintained an economy of about 15 and took 2 wickets. That's rather impressive.

The bowling couldn't have been completely rubbish as well, given the relatively few number of wides for that sort of age group. Probably just really slow.

nrr or runs scored for/against? It really is a step too far though, any good captain like Smith would have declared while he was on 986*

How big were the boundaries?

Seriously, he must be a pretty buff guy for his age to be smacking that many boundaries again and again

Apart from being unsporting, it seems like a an inning containing scores increased for the batsman by the scorer as per the above article.
