Player transfer system?

Zimbabwe's Kevin Pietersen? Australian players' chief suggests cricket transfer system

The head of Australia's players' union has made a radical proposal to introduce a transfer system to "better utilise unemployed Test-quality players", suggesting a star such as unwanted England batsman Kevin Pietersen could be retained on the international scene by playing for a country such as Zimbabwe.

This is not actually a bad idea. Could revive some nations that are flagging, provide some leadership where it is lacking, and give deserved guys a shot where they might not.

Obviously needs to be some restrictions etc, but can't help but think it'd also inject some interest into cricket as well.

Absolutely the worst idea I've seen all year, and that includes all of Loko's suggestions.
lol this

brb "hey how would you like to live in Zimbabwe from now on, and they'll pay you less for a 5 year contract than 5 games of county cricket"

What a way to entrench the power of the Big Three. "Hey quality Zimbabwean player, come play for us, we have cash"

It's not the worst idea at all. Obviously there'd be some sort of system in place to ensure it's not abused and to make sure it's benefitting struggling nations, and guys who should play test cricket but might not.

You can't just arbitrarily change a players nationality though, hence it being a ****ing stupid idea.

Oh, and Pietersen should not be playing test cricket as he's past it.

What is it with cricket that there needs to be legions of idiots coming up with stupid ideas to "fix" a game that doesn't need fixing?
