Actually think that Barry Richards might have been the second greatest of all time given the chance.

List should at least include Kallis.

Others to consider might be Trumper and Ranji.

I'm going to be very diplomatic and aid those who seemingly should already be in here, as well as a couple of left field picks, personal faves of mine

Grace
Trumper
Kallis
Greenidge
Steve Smith
I won't be using this thread based on the fact he has been nominated. I am interested in interesting and educated cricket discussions and nominating him for 2nd best batsman of all time is ill conceived.
He may already despite his short career be a nominee for the top 50 batsman of all time. But to nominate him as the second best batsman of all time ahead of Viv Richards and many more lacks objectivity.

You can't also have Steve Smith in your Overrated XI along with guys like Spudderford and at the same time say he's one of the 50 best batsmen ever.

Who cares about Viv anyway, the guy was a hipswinging jerk who couldn't even manage to average 55, the true cutoff for a good batsman.

LOL, take a pill Hurricane........been worse names than Steve Smith put forward.

Anyways, I nominate Joe Root.

Viv is already in the running Hurricane, I chose him as an auto nom. So there's twenty names or so that I put in above Steve Smith so you can take that objectivity garbage out of the thread with you

Haha Tendulkar isn't even the second best Indian batsman of all time.

Nor the best, obviously.
