Moments(whether a ball, over or innings) in cricket nobody talks about that you love

2011 World Cup opening game, Bangladesh's reply. India, to the surprise of no-one, stack on a huge amount of runs and everyone writes off Bangladesh as no hope, yet the openers come out blasting, and when Imrul hit like 5 boundaries(I think) in one over the crowd went nuts. Even though you knew there was such little hope of it being pulled off, all the top 6 batsman got decent starts at solid strikerates and it wasnt until the the 35th over or so that you knew it was gonna be impossible. West Indies chase in vain against NZ at this world cup just gone is a similar example I suppose but that was praised a fair bit

BARNES OUT
Was a surprisingly good tourney that 2006 CT. Best known for the ****storm in a cup around the Aussies ignoring the head of the BCCI on the podium and Damien Martyn (?) pushing him or something haha.

Favourite moments.. too many...I'll be coming back to this topic as I remember more.

McGrath to Razzaq at the Gabba in 2000. Pakistan chasing 280 plus, Razzaq comes in at number 3 and hammers 5 boundaries of a McGrath over...and just the look on McGrath's face..he had no clue what to do..always felt that he was quite a limited bowler in ODI cricket, in the sense that if anyone could make him go awry in his length, he didn't have a lot to fall back..and that's what happened that day..he tried everything, around the wicket, over the wicket, nothing worked..went for like 60 runs in 6 overs.

A very similar moment was during the 99 semi final when Klusener went after him.. After getting smashed, he tried a yorker, it was a hapless full toss and Klusener connected, and it went to long on, through Paul Reiffel's hands for a 6. Once again the look on McGrath's face.. cursing Reiffel for a dropped catch when he was bowling full tosses in the 49th over of the game

That's just not true though. He's been 2 (18) or something plenty of times before.
i thought that's standard gayle though. slowish start then keeps accelerating faster and faster til he gets out. does he ever hit out ball 1?

I absolutely love it when part-timer rubbish bowlers bowl. Or when batsmen who usually never bowl turn their arm over.

It's great to watch because they are so ****, and they're bowling to these world class, elite batsmen who have probably only ever face bowling this **** back when they were a kid playing club cricket.

Half the time they seem so loss at how to play the slow, loopy, straight dross that is being served, that all they can provide are meek defensive shots or just working the ball away for a single.

It's fantastic

I can't believe I ate the whole thing
Used to love watching tailenders bat and get runs against all odds, but of late it seems more of an annoyance than pleasure, probably because there's very few Chris Martin's still knocking about and as professional sportsman bowlers seem to have to be able hold up their end. It's fair enough I spose - but there was an enjoyment factor there for spectators of all ilk (forum experts, armchair experts, the average Joe Blow who can't tell a ODI from a Test) could enjoy and look forward to once the number 7 or 8 departed.

Srinath's enormous six off I think Steve Waugh's bowling in that Titan Cup match vs Australia in 1996. The fact that nowhere on the Internet can I find highlights of that match is a travesty.

im shocked to find curtley ambrose has a test fifty under his belt, i want to find it. his batting postion suggested he was better than walsh but they both looked equally ******** with the bat to me.... just too damn lanky

Always used to enjoy watching Graeme Fowler bat - despite being a specialist bat with a half decent Test record he never lost the ability to bat as if every delivery was going to be his last - how he managed that ton against the '84 West Indians was a total mystery

Norwood's on Fire
Ian Bell's Test c&b
Crowd walking into the ground just to watch Afridi bat only to walk straight back out when Freddie removed him first ball

Both from the same series actually. Maybe even match.
