Victoria has dropped Glenn Maxwell for tomorrow's one-day game after he missed a recovery session @heraldsunsport

No bonus points for Qld puts them out of the running for the semi final.

Can the Apple eaters upset the Vics tomorrow even with Quiney back ?

Tipping today's game to be the match of the tournament just quietly. Cam White to ton up, sorry for the spoilers.

And apparently Maxwell had additional Australian-team commitments later in the day that most of his team-mates didn't. Fair enough for him wanting a morning off. Absurd to suspend him, can't help but wonder if this is more Saker vs Lehmann bs. Probably not but who knows.

Tassie look a good outfit with Paine scoring runs and that bloke Micheal making a few, then Doran, Dunk and Forkers Faulkner.

Can Bird pick up a few wickets ?
Can Rose wreak revenge on his former state ?
Will Fekete match Steketee's return from yesterday ?

For the Vics,
Can Quiney carry the Vics non-performing upper order batsmen.
Will Finch continue in long form cricket mode ?
Also will Stoinis get another game ?

Future's League Day 1

SA 150 (KR Smith 41, T Ley 4/27, JK Lalor 3/46) v NSW 4/194 (BJ Rohrer 76*, DP Hughes 56, N Larkin 40)

WA 4/422 (J Wells 188*, J Carder 182) v Vic

Tas 0/6 v Qld (assuming a lot of rain up north?)

Good for Jono Wells to keep himself in the frame for WA.

Good team effort by the Vics today ,all the underachievers came good.

Like the ball from Holland which bounced almost over Doran's head.

Thought Faulkner and Doran were taking it a bit too easy and let the runrate build up. When Forkers was out there was no hope for them to score at 10 an over.

Doran did look good. Michael also looks good.

Is it possible for the Croweaters to flog CA XI all around the park to overtake Tassie on runrate ?

Will the rain affect the games tomorrow ?

BTW Drummoyne oval looks a nice place to play cricket

Today was at North Sydney

Drummoyne is beautiful but has changed a lot since I played there - used to be completely open to water at the north with one very old, very small "stand"

Still has a good pitch by the look of it

Things have obviously changed as the main ground out west used to be Howell Oval (another beautiful ground/great pitch but no facilities) and Hurstville was **** but St George always had strong political connections

It's bizarre that Wells got de-listed when he did. He sucked to a ludicrous degree but kept getting Tassie deals, then when he improves and becomes a genuinely half-decent option, they finally piss him off.

Weird career TSTL.

North Sydney and Drummoyne look very nice. I went over to North Syd the other week, and its such a relaxed area as well. Love it.

North Sydney would be a near-perfect domestic cricket ground if all the boundaries were moved 10m out.

EDIT: **** Patto looks quick again.

Yeah, I'm very excited about Patto's trajectory. He's never been outstanding with the white ball (not bad, just not awesome), but he's been real good in this. I think he's gonna **** some **** up in the Shield. Might not be enough to get a test this summer (and I'd love for him to get a full Shield under his belt) but if MJ doesn't get back to lethal a fit Pattinson will step in. Five good injury free years please.

Also excited about young Stanlake. Love that big almost Imranesq leap into the delivery. Obvious comparisons to Garner too, but I reckon he puts more back into it than Big Bird did (please have Garner's back not Bruce Reid's) so looks like he can generate real heat and bounce. 204cm at 140+ is the sort of **** top order batsmen have nightmares about. Getting him on a spicy first day Gabba pitch could be real tough work.

Certainly don't want the selectors losing their ****ing minds and throwing him into the test squad a la Cummins or anything. Treat him carefully and let him play Shield and Futures to develop for the next two seasons, but in three or so years? Fingers crossed even if he is a Quincelander.

Strikers might have pulled of a real coup signing him. But please everybody involved in selections, look after this kid and bring him on slowly. At 23/24 he could be an absolute freak if we don't break him.

If they're confident he can get through the Tests then he should play, on a basic "play your best bowlers" basis. It's not like there's any doubt whether he's Test- and possibly world-class at times.

Pattinson, that is.

Whats the weather like in Sydney today ?

Can SA make up the difference in runrate to make the Semi ?
Which of the CA batsmen will make runs today ?

Whats to watch for in the WA v Qld game ?

Kahwaja to make some runs
Boyce and Stanlake to get some top order wickets

Will WA play the mollydooker pace attack of Johnson, Paris and Behrendorff ?

Will Ashton Turner get a game ?
