Where are the players of the last under 19 World Cup?

Pratters

Cricket, Lovely Cricket
The under-19 world cup is a place for competition among the youngsters which is said to sport talent for future and get players some very good competition at a very young age.

So my qeustion is what are the people who took part in the last under 19 world cup doing now? Like what grade of cricket the players are playing, if at all, all the info possible.

This could give us a better idea of how much to expect from current players in the under 19 world cup in the future.

England U19

Bilal Shafayat - now with England A but not performing too well domestically
Nicky Peng - starting to put runs together regularly for Durham
Kyle Hogg - starting to make an impact at Lancs, too many bowlers infront of him to make a real impression
Kadeer Ali - with England A, why, I don't know
Samit Patel - still an U19 and still learning - looks promising
Nick Compton - no idea
Gorden Muchall - regularish at Durham, only averaging late 20s
Mark Pettini - Essex, not playing too much FC, not making too many
Tim Bresnan - still U19, another promising talent
Stephen Pope - Glos' backup keeper - waiting for Russell to quit!
Chris Gilbert - er, played an NCL game for Yorks this year.
Paul McMahon - looking to break into Notts' 1sts
Nadeem Malik - fringe of Notts' team

Salamuddin

International Debutant
Most of the Indian squad that reached the semis of the last youth cup are now playing fc cricket.

Parthiv and Pathan have of course represented the country.
Trivedi has played for India A.

He signed for Worcs about a month ago. I never realised he was in the last U19 wc squad. Although if he wasnt good enough for Notts first team i cant see him breaking into Worc's with the likes of Bichel / Mason / Kabir / Hall in front of him.

He did pretty well when he was given the chance and played quite a few OD games. I think he could end up being pretty useful.

Ross Taylor - Revelation in State Shield, will make the NZ team within a year or two.
Neil Broom - Lots of potential, but yet to establish a spot in the Canterbury team.
Rob Nicol - Established in Auckland team.
Jesse Ryder - Huge talent, but plagued by discipline problems.

The rest of the 2002 NZ U19 team have either played a handful of games for their respective provincial teams or have never made it that far as yet.

Charles Coventry of Zimbabwe has played at least one ODI for the senior side. Anyone else know anything about the other Zim U-19s?

Ron Matthews - hasn't played FC cricket for 2-3 years.
Ryan Nurse - took an 7-fer this season.

Or in the case of Gavin Tonge, perhaps well dow the pecking order from his island or he is in Canada, USA, Argentina, Colombia or somehwere in South America, or the UK.

More likely the US or Canada if he isnt living in the Caribbean.

thierry henry

International Coach
Not that they'd play, but aren't Patel and Pathan still eligible for this U-19 Cup? Amazing, especially since Patel was the captain last time.
