Not that they'd play, but aren't Patel and Pathan still eligible for this U-19 Cup? Amazing, especially since Patel was the captain last time.
Indeed they are eligible. If Pathan hadn't been so succesful at the Asian u-19 championships, he probably would be playing at this youth world cup.

Jordan Sheed is trying to maintain his standard of the worest batsman to ever play for Otago.
Haha, so true.

Anyways, having a dig because I found this interesting as a "where are they now" excercise. Only Nicol of the big four Tim listed is yet to play for NZ. Would be interested to know the bowlers that team had, or was that the bunch that had all the injury prone quicks?

Went back 2 years too far last time...

2002 U19 Windies
Dwayne Bravo - doing brilliantly for T&T.
Narsingh Deonarine - solid player.
Alcindo Holder - haven't a clue.
Lorenzo Ingram - playing Carib Beer cricket for Jamaica this season.
Gareth Matthew - uncertain.
Ron Matthews - hasn't played FC cricket for 2-3 years.
Ryan Nurse - took an 7-fer this season.
Donovan Pagon - scored 94 for Jamaica to beat T&T on Sunday. :!(
Ravi Rampaul - played for WI and a fine prospect.
Darren Sammy - playing well for Windwards this season.
Shane Shillingford - useful offspinner. Playing for the Windwards this season.
Lendl Simmons - playing this U19 WC too and a fine allround talent.
Gavin Tonge - haven't a clue.
Tonito Willett - decent batsman with potential. Playing in the Carib Beer Cup this season.

Basically the majority of the players have stayed active and progressed in cricket.
Bravo now playing for WI
Deonarine had a chance with WI with the contract dispute but hasn't played since. Has a great FC season so far.
Holder plays occassionally for Barbados IIRC. Not this season though.
Ingram is on the fringes of the Jamaica team. Hasn't played this year though.
Matthew, no idea.
Same for Matthews.
Nurse hasn't played FC for a while.
Pagon took a break is what I'm calling it along with being dropped and has done decent this season. Not made use of his promise but got a shot with the WI.
Rampaul has just had a recall to the ODI team after some injury.
Sammy has similarly had a recall after soom good domestic performances.
Shillingford is one of the best bowlers this season so far. Might be in line for selection in the future.
Simmons had some ODIs and didn't do well and now getting a second chance.
Tonge has done well this year and is one of the top pacers.
Willett isn't doing too well in FC.
