Prior and Flintoff at 6 and 7 will be a good enough compromise.but having said that will 5 specialist batsmen be enough to put on decent runs against warne, mcgath, Gillespie/Lee/Starc/MacGill etc

I think the post 1980 attack will most likely be johnson, harris, warne and mcgrath.but having said that will 5 specialist batsmen be enough to put on decent runs against warne, mcgath, Gillespie/Lee/Starc/MacGill etc
boycott and underwood debuted in the 60s. would not have been included anyways. gooch, gower, willis and botham are the certainties that are missing with this cut-offBroad and Anderson opening with gough and swann as my other bowlers. Flint off as all rounder. Would have been better to start the modern era from 1970s onwards. Because coloured TV and more footage from 1970s on wards. Good thread tho. Just missing a few main players like underwood botham boycott from the 1970s
The criteria states FC debut, which eliminates Willis.boycott and underwood debuted in the 60s. would not have been included anyways. gooch, gower, willis and botham are the certainties that are missing with this cut-off

Indeed, I voted Anderson & Gough, but in many ways wanted to pick Jones & Fraser.Feeling a bit dirty for failing even to think of voting for Gus Fraser.
Harmison was crap.If all the hypothetical Tests were played in England, especially Old Trafford, then Harmison is a pretty good choice. But he was so crap away from home.
