There's no real style objectively suited to any single position. We have great attacking and defensive batsmen who batted in all positions from 1-6. And in this XI, with Sehwag selected as an opener, Dravid's defensive solidity is ideal for 3.

Some people count sheep to get off to sleep. I just count Dravids.

Boycott and Tavare were also soporific, but at least they were sometimes really annoying such that you really wanted to slap them. Dravid has the unfortunate combination of being dull and nice. Which is great if you're someone needing their daughter married off, but on the sporting field, not really.

Now where's Sangakkara again? He'd be really good at first drop.
