Yeah, cricket only; not sure when it's starting as I'm pretty sure that they (St Kilda CC) are still playing at Junction Oval this year. One benefit of state governments hey? Vic government has done wonder for sporting stadiums in Victoria. Where did they get to on the Junction Oval? Has that all been secured?
I go back further than that, bitchyou're the bloke who goes back and likes posts from 2010 so you would know I guess.
That's great. What a sporting state Victoria is.Yeah, cricket only; not sure when it's starting as I'm pretty sure that they (St Kilda CC) are still playing at Junction Oval this year.

You are probably right. The game probably isn't very popular anymore to sustain a capacity of anything much above what they are currently. If anything, test cricket is probably dying right in front of our eyes. Yesterday's Sky Ashes averaged 318,000, significantly down on the 1st match and C5 had a paltry half a million for the highlights. Frankly, a lot of teens nowadays are chavs who will never get into test cricket. It's too slow moving and not groovy enough for them. All the more reason a high profile, terrestrial TV T20 is now a must, or we could very well be witnessing the demise of the game. The game isn't popular enough for counties to spend hundreds of millions of pounds upgrading their grounds, and there's no sports that can fit onto a cricket oval to help cross subsidise improvements. The ground development that's happened in the last 10-15 years in Australia has basically been driven by AFL, not cricket.
None in England, but a ****load in Cardiff that enables them to bid for the big games and host them.how much support do the local governments provide?
