My vote goes to Andre Nel

I cant put Courtney in! He has as many 50's as a lot of specialist batsmen!! unreal!

Hoggard has come on unrecognisably in the last two years - to the extent that I was confident of him sticking there if needed in the First Test in SL.

Matthew Hoggard isn't too good either (although the bloke can defend).
Hoggard is definitely nowhere near the worst number 11 ever!

He's been involved in one century and at least 2 half-century stands in his career so far.

CHRIS MARTIN

I don't think you guys realise how bad he is. Guys like Nehra, Walsh, and Morrison are Bradman in comparison to Martin. In fact, Danny Morrison played a large part of his career batting at no.10 ahead of Willie Watson.

Another one worth a mention is Stuart Macgill.

Hmmm...Fidel Edwards? The man who batted for the best part of an hour with Jacobs in sturdy support and solemn defence to draw a Test? Edwards has reasonable defensive technique, as does Collymore. They play straight.

I find this whole thing funny. You have people who will go out telling the greatness of their country's batsmen, and then when a worst batsman thread is created it's the opposite. The worst batsman is from any given person's respective country. Hilarious.

Why is that?

Yeah I'd have to go for Martin aswell , hands down.
Courtney was bad but not this bad.
While Ambrose , Morrison , Nehra , Nel are all horrible batsman they arent totally lost causes , they are all capable of hitting the odd boundary or contributing the odd 10 not out.

All of the others have what could be described as some sort of batting technique , when pressed they can play a legitimate forward defence & McGrath even swept Harbhajan for a couple of fours in India in 2001.
You will actually find that most of them were considered allrounders during their junior days , Craig McDermott & Mike Whitney were bunnies , but both used to bat in the middle order when they were my age.

The ultimate tribute to Martin's lack of ability came in 2001/02 when Fleming reasoned it better to declare 9 down than waste the time & have him walk out & take centre.

Dont think anyone who's seen him bat would doubt he's the worst .
