Surrey cricketers Rory Burns and Moises Henriques, have been involved in a sickening collision while fielding in the NatWest Blast tie between Sussex and Surrey at Arundel Castle.
Medics are in attendance.
Play has now officially been suspended. The rest of the players have been taken from the pitch whilst the players affected are treated.
The players collided while running for a catch offered by Steffan Piolet off Tom Curran in the 19th over of Sussex's innings. by David Hopps 5:08 PM↑0

Not nice at all at Arundel. Third ambulance now on the pitch. Burns being treated but motionless. Henriques is being kept still it appears.

Not sure what to say...

Are there any tweets that describe the collision (ie if one was sliding in and made contact with the other's head?) From the sounds of it, it appears to be a facial injury for Henriques and a neck injury for Burns, which I find a bit hard to picture. Hopefully it's only a precautionarily neck brace or something

Wilson, Mahmood and other Surrey players now on field. Burns putting two thumbs in the air as stretchered onto third ambulance.

Good news, then

An announcement at Arundel states that both Moises Henriques and Rory Burns are sitting up and conscious after colliding in the field.

Reading the first posts of this thread gave me a kick in the gut. So glad they seem to be alright. Hope they get through the night without complications. Fingers crossed :(
