The same as the All Time Great thread but with an All Time Splat XI

Only one rule. Nobody is allowed to choose Tony Pigott for either a World or England XI. He only played because England needed someone quick a long way from home and he was in the vicinity. :gathering

England XI (This is only the last 30 years really as my memory is not what it was)

1. Tim Curtis
2. Paul Terry
3. Ed Smith
4. Darren Maddy
5. Usman Afzaal
6. Jason Gallian
7. Richard Blakey
8. Ian Greig
9. Alan Igglesden
10. Mike Smith
11. Ian Salisbury

Another England side

1. Mark Lathwell
2. Kim Barnett
3. Alan Wells
4. Graeme Hick
5. Mark Ramprakash
6. Rob Bailey
7. Steve Rhodes
8. Mike Watkinson
9. Martin McCague
10. Chris Silverwood
11. Martin Saggers

Not sure how you can pick a plop side without picking the biggest underachievers in the last 30 years in Hick and Ramprakash. Almost picked Chris Lewis but even he was passable in comparison to some of the garbage we have used over the years.

Not forgotten, but there are only 11 places available and mountains of dross to choose from.

Incidentally, Hegg and Rhodes are both better keepers than Alec Stewart.

Nilesh Kulkarni is the king of splats.... A wicket off his first ball in test cricket and literally nothing in all the other games he played, right? He will live on forever through cricket trivia games.. :)

EDIT: Forgot to state the obvious that he should be there in this side ahead of Sanghvi.

Australia (Modern Era)

1. S Watson

6. T Paine
7. G Manou +
8. G Robertson/B Casson/J Krejza/C White/M Beer/A Agar etc.

Openers are hard since we've been relatively consistent and I'm not picking Cowan in this.

This'll sound a bit patriotic, but I'd back this team to be at the very competitive against a few actual test XIs of other nations at times.

We've had way worse players than badani (Vijay Bhardwaj ffs) and Kaif is a goddamn hero.

Cool down guys. Kaif was a hero in ODIs. I made this team for the longer format. I need 3 specialist middle-order batsmen (and there haven't been many in that role, thanks to our famous middle-order). Vijay Bhardwaj doesn't fit that role, as he was AR. Do you have any specialist middle-order batsman in mind? Raina? Anyone else? [Think both Yuvraj and Ajay Jadeja were better than Kaif and Badani]

Kaif was much better than Yuvraj and Raina. Criminally misused. Unfairly dropped. Was a much better Ranji bat than either of those; he just kinda gave up after being dropped from India and winning the Ranji trophy.

I'll take five new zealand opening batsmen (including david white and blair hartland) and justin vaughan for my top six thank you. grant bradburn can be my spin bowling allrounder. will solve the rest of the team later.

Paine, Manou, Watson, Marsh all a bit harsh IMO. Though apart from spinners it's hard to find really dire players that played for us.
