What period of time is qualified as the 2020's? Crazy to think there's been 63 tests in just under 2 years and yet people claim test is dead.

Yeah, it seems strange thinking back but a lot of countries have actually continued pretty full Test schedules even during the pandemic (and some absolutely haven't). For reference, Tests played by each country in the past two years since Jan 1, 2020:

England 22
India 17
West Indies 15
Pakistan 14
New Zealand 13
Sri Lanka 12
Bangladesh 9
South Africa 9
Zimbabwe 8
Australia 7 (LOL)
Afghanistan 2

The problem with using ICC player ratings is that the individual ratings of players are very low for the first few test matches of their careers and thus they are not representative of the true ability of the player at the time.

Interesting that Steve Waugh doesn't make the list at all, as he was known for 'clutch' tons.

I guess two things going against him, the clutchest ton he ever got was in an ODI WC, and most of his clutch test tons were scored in ashes series against weak bowlers. Still, surprised his 200 against '95 WI is nowhere to be found
The famous Kingston knock came in at 14.20.

@Days of Grace, what do you make of the relative lack of scores above 300 in the list?
The majority of triple centuries come in matches where either the team posts a huge score, batting conditions are benign, or the team has a large first innings lead.

McCullum's and Hanif's knocks saved the match for their respective teams, whilst Bradman's 334 was scored at a quick pace (strike rate of 74!) and made up 59% of his team's total, something that is very rare for large scores.

Can you do for series performances,4 matches and over.ESPN had smith in 2019 ashes as the best series performance by any batsman ever.It is in top 5, but no.1 was bit far imo.

I mean has there really been a better series performance? Maybe it's nostalgia since I actually saw it live but there's just so many small occurrences that make it AMAZING.

Was really incredible made 6 scores of 80 or over in 7 times.Should have ended with 5 centuries in 7 innings tbh.
Viv in 1976 in England was incredible.Would be up there with smith.Among those I saw, these would be top 2 performances in 4 matches series or over.
I would put smiths over viv tbh.
It’s the best I have seen, was amazing.
Australia didn’t win the series which they should have. So, it willnot be no.1 of all time. But it is the best I have seen as well.

Yeah true tbh. I take it as a win because we retained the ashes for the first time in 20 years but realistically it was a series we should have and would have won if we didn't crumple like a deck of cards under any small amount of pressure.
