Excellent news, might let the meddling politicians know that their interference might be tolerated in SL but not around the world...there has been far too much interference in our cricket and we all know it..

I'm not surprised they have had their funding cut tbh. Apart from Sanga and Murali they have never produced anyone worth a damn.

Would be great news if the current ****ing president of the BCCI and director of the ICC wasn't under suspicion of extreme corruption himself.

Don't know what to believe, 'elected' SLC committees have been an absolute farce and this appointed interim committee had set out with the goal of fixing all that up, hard to say who the real crooks are though

BCCI is ****ed up, so is SLC. Cutting the funding makes it worse. Will lead to cricketers not being paid further, various clubs which get funding wont get them.

I think it's the right move but the hypocrisy is there for all to see.

What have Indian produced? Don't be jealous on Sri Lanka.You might be a senior member here,but that doesn't mean you can come up with cheap comments.Murali is the worlds greatest spinner ever.His records will never ever be overcome.What has India produced all these years?Nothing.India got its test membership in the 1950s we got ours in 1982 and in 1996 14 years later we win the 96 WC.How many centurions do India have in WC Finals? No one.We got two in Aravinda and Mahela.We are easily ahead of Indians.We had Jayasuriya,Vaas,Arjuna,TM Dilshan,that too from a mere 20 million popularity when India have 50x the popularity we have.We all know how tough it is to resist when teams like Sri Lanka have developed in cricket in this short span.Something that India could never accomplish.Get your facts right before posting.You've got no right to criticize Sri Lanka.Could India even win a gold medal in an Olympic game? Could they? Having a popularity second only to China.Shame on India.

1) Taking sledger seriously is a rite of passage on CW for the newbies. So, well done on crossing that bridge.

2) Just of interest, why did you think he was Indian?

3) If you didn't think he was Indian, why would you attack India and not some other cricketing nation?

4) You might want to learn something from the "An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind" quote. But then again, it was put forth by an Indian, so you might not be interested.

5) Lastly, and I will stop here, Popularity =/= Population, especially in the case of BCCI.

Well sledger's the worst. Those guys come a close second.

I don't like the move to cut SLCB's funding. I don't like the move to cut any funding. That just kills the sport in the country; it won't get those guys out of office. Get the member boards to agree to refuse to play SL until they have a proper board in charge IMO. A corrupt board won't stay in power for long if suddenly no one wants to play them.

Has the ICC cut of Zimbabwe's funding too? Those guys blatantly stole money from the ICC for their personal gain. Would be bizarre if they still get funded and SLCB don't. IIRC Zimbabwe are actually getting bailed out by the ICC but i'm not sure..
