Is Darren Lehmann the best international coach ever?

He's obviously done a might fine job over the last couple of years. Unlike Buchanan and others you could name, he's unquestionably added value rather than take the kudos for a team chock full of ATGs doing what comes naturally.

Which is a shame, as he's done a fair bit to drag the game into disrepute as well. For some reason the Beeb were playing his chilling interview before the last Ashes the other day; the one where he was moaning about Broad 'cheating' for not walking after edging to Haddin at Trent Bridge (which obviously none of Lehmann's side would ever do) and then encouraging the Aus crowds to get stuck into Broad, whatever that might be interpreted as meaning. It was pretty crass 18 months ago, and it doesn't sound any better now. I honestly don't recall any international coach saying anything close to second part of that little effort during all the time I've been following the game.

Well, he did handle the Shakib situation quite well, it would seem. Also, great choice for the skipper.
