fastest bowlers in new Zealand right now?

Moss

International Vice-Captain
Bump. Ferguson still the quickest. Milne could be close to a comeback. Kuggs has sort of vanished but will be given chances as he has time on his side. Bennett is sadly just a fast-medium pacer now, his speed against India were unimpressive.

The latest entry in this list has to be Ben Sears. Hasn't gotten in front of a speed gun yet but he obviously is one of the quickest on the domestic scene.
Will be interesting to see what sort of a career Ferguson has from here, should have played more tests this season ahead of Henry yet finds himself leapfrogged by Jaimeson. Gun ODI bowler nevertheless, will be very important for the next World Cup given the conditions aren't likely to favour the likes of Henry, Southee, Jaimeson etc.

Milne I don't know. Supposedly wasn't clocking great speeds for Somerset last year and didn't figure in the domestic scene at all. With all those injuries I don't see him returning to his 2015 peak, incredibly he is still in his twenties so who knows.

Kuggs is a first choice T20 player isn't he? As others as said limited overs probably isn't his best format, would be cool if he could up his batting game and become a contender for the no.7 spot when CdG leaves the scene, His bowling is the complete opposite of Lord Colin's so don't know that will necessarily suit the makeup of the attack.

Seems to be a lot of Bennett in Sears' action, hope he keeps himself fit.

hazeldine looks rapid in his highlights reel but he's also expensive. very short for a fast bowler too, in the kemar roach area.

matthew fisher is said to be very sharp but he's like 20 with no fc caps yet

jamieson intends to put on pace, and he's already a respectable fast medium. tickner is at the high end of the fast mediums.

kugglejuggles pace depends on which version turns up.

ferguson is it for test ready rapid bowlers, and he really should have played a few tests by now. i think the selectors view the current pecking order as boult/wagner/southee/jamieson/ferguson, and those 5 are our guys for now.

Wonder if we could do one without match-fixers

During a quick peruse through the internet I came across a strange one about Rubel Hossain, who apparently "was detained after his ex-girlfriend alleged he fraudulently promised to marry her in order to have ***", which is apparently a very serious crime in Bangladesh.

Definitely could with the suggestions here

Did Roy Gilchrist hit someone once or am I dreaming that up?

Mark Vermeulen set fire to some ZC offices too

Wish Kuggs was angry every match then.

Jamieson at 138-145 would be insane. Boss music. Not expecting him to reach Morne Morkel speeds though.

Safe to say that Matt fisher can be added to the list as one of the quickest in the country. Sears was able to make a debut and get himself in front of a speed gun at last, clocking one at 147. Milne has surprisingly made a comeback and has now been on the park serious-injury free for over a year! Definitely not a 150 guy anymore and still very hittable. Lockie remains the quickest and Kuggs has deservedly vanished into nothingness having never performed consistently or bowling serious heat. Would be interesting to see where tickner ends up, was bowling upto 145 against pak in the 2020/21 home season t20is.

Someone needs to help Tickner sort his length. Everything is there for him to be an intimidating 140 clicks height bowler, except consistent lengths.

The post Southee - Boult era trio is probably Jamieson - Sears - Fisher, but there is still hopefully loads of time for them all to develop and some new guys to poke their noses in.

Tickner mightttttt get a run against the saffers so we might just get to see how he maintains that pace throughout a day.
