Yeah. It can get quite real with the cows and beggars infesting the malls. especially the kids constantly pleading for alms to play another arcade game. Not to mention the food which is a surefire guarantee to give you some good old fashioned diarrhea. But fear not, I have heard they are going to open a new non-Indian, first world zone this year in most cities, with sushi and wine and waitressing. So yay!
We've all seen Slum Dog Millionaire mate. We know what it's really like.

Met Asad Shafique at a mall last week while we were both waiting for the valet to bring our cars. Realized how little following test cricket has in in Pakistan apart from me no one recognized him seems he was genuinely happy that I came forward to meet him because no else had an idea who he was.

Exactly. Long lost romantic rendezvous with a song and dance routine at the busiest railway station in the country just one of the umpteen number of problems Bombay people have to face everyday.

Well it does get pretty hot at this time of the year for the white people to really enjoy themselves outdoors. Apart from the actual cricket of course not sure what they would do.

Bah, all your stories pale into insignificance next to the time I ate a McDonald's sat next to Saj Mahmood. He was, like, there, the whole time. He eats like he bowls, messy and sprays it everywhere

well if they're all passing their time watching and playing golf they must be pretty bored. looks like the OP was right after all.

It's funny how much sportsmen (especially footballers) like playing golf on their time off. I thought they'd like to do something non-sporty, like be a couch potato and watch movies or something.

The overseas players basically live out of their hotel rooms while in India. They just go out for nets and then to the matches.

Yeah, but they really rage in Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.
No, it's the same all over the Subcontinent but Sri Lanka might be a little better because it's no so overcrowded and the people are not so in your face. The atmosphere there as far as I know is much calmer. But even there I'd imagine players living out of their hotels, relaxing by the pool side much of the time.

You've travelled all over that part of the world in order to verify this, have you?

What a pity India doesn't have swimming pools.

India has 53 times the amount of US$ Foreign Reserves as Sri Lanka, but damn - gotta build those swimming pools
